  14. dont mind awkward rings and knotty bits as long as it will burn:thumbup:
  15. Hi all i was wondering if it was a good idea to ask local tree surgeons if they would consider dropping of lenghs of trunks so that i could cut and split them my self for firewood, during the summer when they are busy, i am willing to pay a fair price for freshly cut wood, i live in Chorley Lancashire, just for my personal use only. thanks in advance.
  16. hi all, could you give me your views, a mate is thinking of buying a stihl MS181 for cutting up about 5 cube of firewood per year, he is'nt used to saws at all, and has just had a woodburner put in, thanks in advance
  17. I know what you mean it looks like he was well ripped off but hes one of them who never asks advice:thumbdown: he told me last night that he is giving up on it and putting it down to experience he said he is going to buy a MS181 as he only needs it for firewood.
  18. Thanks for the advice, i did as you said there was a slight improvement but still not right, i think he is going to give up on it and just get a MS181 as its only going to be used for a bot of firewood.
  19. Hi all A friend of mine bought this saw a while ago from one of his mates for £400 anyway he says it wont rev in the mid range ie revs at full throttle dead in the middle ok ish tick over, says he had it to a stihl dealer for a tune up but he says they charged him £75 told him it was fine, trys it at home but no difference, i think he was ripped off with the saw in the first place ie looks very old no chain brake, what do you think ??? is this saw safe to use even if he gets it running ok? thanks:001_smile: i will try to post a pic.
  20. dont know not been there yet but im sure you can advise as you clearly have:001_tt2:
