    I'm tempted to say ill do it by the hour being as this is the first time I've done any, using there planting tool, the grass is all ready sprayed off along the fence where it's going I could time how many plants per hour I get in and guarded, might not be the most profitable way of doing the job, but you gotta start somewhere, it could also lead to other jobs on theyre farm

    Just back from the pub, where some one has asked me to do a quote on hedge planting, not sure what the going rate on planting is. Think it'll work out to be 200m double planting, 3 plants per metre, along the side fence of a grass field, they'll get all the plants guard etc, I just need to plant Anyone got any ideas???

    good thinking robbo i did think about that, not to sure weather they're in the typical triangle christmas tree shape or not they're pretty close to each other

    would all the gum of dried enough to burn cleanly, would it not dry quicker if it was processed into logs then stored in my barn?

    thanks guys, i think that these trees maybe a little big for house christmas trees i think that they're atleast 30 foot tall, maybe we'll cut the tops out and sell them as christmas trees come december, then use the rest as fire wood i imagine that they'll take a while to dry out enough to use as firewood

    i had a phone call today from a fellow farmer who has about 2acres of christmas trees that he wants clearing i was wondering if this wood is any good for selling as logs? how long will it take to dry suffecently to burn clean?

    i'm in east leicestershire, the rangers are parked up out side of the houses, they use pipe cutters to cut the exhaust pipe, quick, quiet, and £1700-£2000 to replace so keep your eyes peeled

    Evening people, just thought i'd give you the heads up there's been a spate of newer shape ranger (not the brand new ones) cats being nicked of off the trucks parked up outside at peoples houses around our area last week theer where 15 doen in one night!! so keep your eyes open for suspisus looking people at night carrying pipe cutters you can get a cat protect system that can tell where the cat came from when they try and scrap it. sorry about the spelling, been up since 6 lambing for the past week:sleep1:

    i'm here coz hex factor is on, i tryed to make her watch it up stairs but "its cold up stairs" and i'm not putting the heating on for another month yet

    This is the kind of machine i was thinking about i already have a log splitter but i could do with another way of cutting them apart from a chain saw on saw horse. not sure if the link works properly http://www.brownsagricultural.co.uk/timber_equipment.aspx?picnumber=1007&category=0&page=0#midnav[/url Is there any way of making sure the logs are cut to the same length each time? i'm not to sure how it works

    i've just been looking through a browns agricultural sales catalogue and spotted there log chopper. I was wondering if anyone on here had ever used one and if there any good?? mark

    they're not my students they come and fell the trees from a local collage, but i like your thinking

    so looking at all those posts my level hi-lux load at £75 is cheap, though i did only pay £25/ton for the wood (ash, oak and horn beam) but i had to haul it out of the wood my self, it's felled by some students on various courses, i then cut and split back at the farm. should i try putting my prices up?????

    i think i'm going, the farm that i used to work on full time have a new sprayer made by KNIGHTS, its ment to be mahoosive and kninghts are taking it so i'm going to see that, i'll probably end up driving it at some point in the summer or coming months when i'm back ther for the spring/harvest work. if i rememeber right you'll nedd a good pair of boots on probably wellies as it normally rains .... alot

    just a quick one, i was just wondering where the best place to buy net bags and how much are they?? how many logs should you put in the bags??

    blimey, look's like i'll make them a bit smaller than 12" more like 10ish, didn't want to make them to small as i'm cutting them by hand with my chainsaw on a saw horse, then splittling them on the tractor splittler, smaller logs = more handling and all that

    looks ot me as though the chipper is self powered and the fendt is used to pull it around and work the hydralic's (can't spell that very well but get what i mean)...

    hi all, just wondered if there was a standard log size that logs are sold in?? i'm currently cutting and splitting into 10-12" lengths? is this to long?????
