  4. I appreciate your point, horses for courses obviously, but I've got a forwarding trailer and I don't want to limit my tractors usage by having a great big lump on top and wheels full of water. Ultimately I'm trying to save some dosh, not blow a load more..
  5. Yes, I want it to he a one man operation, so not interested in feeding it with a second machine etc, looking for suggestions as 2 a decent crane manufacturer, idea of cost and the ease of which it could be attached??
  6. Just priced up a new TP270 at £18k, the Mowi crane attached adds an extra £16K. There must be a cheaper way?? any suggestions?
  7. Thanks again for the suggestions, tried Krpan, but was going nowhere fast, gone with a Tafjun EGV65AHK ZS 6.5 and radio remote. Hopefully it will not disappoint..
  8. Cheers for the reply's. I was hoping for 8 ton or more, but the only 2 manufacturers that do a purpose built winch are Krpan and tajfun, but the biggest they do is about 5 or 6 ton. Are there any others??
  9. I want to fit a winch to the front linkage of a Valtra n141, any suggestions as to what make or model would be suitable? bearing in mind the shafts running at 1000 rpm, and are there any additional dangers attached to winching operations using a winch attached to the front?

    They still had the shilling when I was out there, the food I found though was very good, schnitzel, tafelspitz, kase krainers, dumplings and deep fried sprouts, yum! If you go, check out Hallstatt and Dachstein region in Middle Austria, great place for weekending. Do they still have a long weekend every other weekend?
