1. Hi folks, hopefully I've posted in the right section apologies if not. I've been asked to provide some kind of support system for this Birch, customer apparently want's nothing cut just a support installed. I've not seen this in person just been sent the picture. My first thought was to take weight out but as I say the customer want's nothing removed. I have no experience with support posts / systems but I'm very keen to help the customer as I suspect the tree is much loved. After a little google I've seen a few props but can't find anywhere that sells them. I'd like some advice please regarding what I should use and also where I might be able to source the kit please.
2.
Hi, thanks for your post regarding my Dolmar problems! Can I take your number and give you a call tomorrow at some point. I'm off to a local shop to try and find a bar, if I have no joy I'll be needing one from you :-) Many thanks. Gavin

3. Thanks guys, I'll check with a friend or pop in FRJones to try a few bars then :-) The screws in the oiler came out and disappeared New screws sorted the problem, oil now flows well to the bar, I just can't get it down the damn thing
4. Hi folks, I had a problem with my Dolmar not oiling. Solved a problem with the pump but now I have a new problem. The 20" bar does not line up with the oil hole/slot. I've re drilled the holes as close as I can get to the oil slot, the problem now seems to be that the chain is failing to pick up the oil as it passes because the holes are below the teeth as they pass. I think the only option is a new bar. I've spoken to Rob at Chainsawbars and he's been as helpful as he can and suggested a modification to allow the saw to take a 395xp bar. Ideally I'd like an original bar, but will go with any fix at the moment as I need this saw working soon.
5. Many thanks for the advice guys. I'm still not sure if the pipe with the plastic elbow takes the oil up to the bar hole. I think it's the feed from the tank, I blew it with the air line and could see the tank bulge It is firmly in there as well, I tried to remove it a little. I will see if I can remove the pump tomorrow, I suspect it is a tapered shaft according to the diagrams.
6. Hi folks, I've got an issue with my Dolmar 133s. It's not oiling so I removed the clutch for a look. The two retaining screws were missing from the pump housing for a start and the feed pipe was disconnected. I put new screws in and connected the pipe but when I fired it up I can see the oil seems to be coming from behind the pump rather than out from the hole it's supposed to be coming out of Do I need a puller to remove the clutch hub? I'd like to get the pump off and check theres nothing broken or blocked. I'm also not 100% sure how the oil gets from the pump up to the oil hole normally, if someone could give me a simple explanation I'd appreciate it
7. Excellent work guys, threads like this are only going to make me spend what I don't yet have lol. I've been good this year, I'm trying to find somewhere locally to store my wood and work on it.... when I do, I shall be buying an 880 and speaking with Rob a lot I think :-)
8. Hi guys, can someone pm me the details of any tip sites in these areas please, we have a price to do in the area and would like to find a local tip if possible.
9. Good thread guys, has anyone else got an update on these Ripper blades. They are rather pricey for me to test one out on a stump.
10. Hi folks, I have a pal that's managed to drop his 181 and the throttle assembly is now in bits There was a link to a pdf on here but sadly the link is not working.. Can anyone post a link to a diagram please.
11. Many thanks for the advice guys, I might have to give you a call in the week Rob D :-)
12. Hi folks, I have a Dolmar 133 special that I'd like to use for milling. I've checked and apparently they only recommend that the largest bar is a 24" I'd really like to get the 36" Alaskan mill and wondered if I can get a 36" bar anywhere for this saw. It's a decent saw with plenty of grunt so I can't really see why not Advice please folks.
