To be honest I'm a big believer in thing called "personal disposability" which seems to be some what out of fashion, mores the pity.
Tickets really are not difficult to achieve (expensive yes, difficult no) they are more about arse covering and ability IMHO.
The most skilled cutters I've worked with had no tickets.
agreed Skyhuck - just common sense and logic. Unfortunately clever legal types have twisted the legal system to the extent that common sense and logic no longer come into play
As for tickets - they are just bits of paper. In my line of work I find that those with the most tickets have the least experience as they have spent all their time in the classroom rather than doing the job.

This maybe a bit sad but it's worth a try,on visiting a previous client today to look at some more work i was shown this.We dismantled 13 large open growing norway spruce two and a half years ago,we didn't split it,the clients son did, which must have been a major task in itself(freshly cut softwood with an axe!)and stacked it afterwards in this fashion. Can anybody do any better?
nice job, but as mentioned above, they are going to have some problems with damp on that wall
-
Have you tried clicking remember me.
never - mostly on work or other shared computors.
Not a major problem and might just be related to all the changes going on so not particularly worried as can do what I need to on here.

the 2012 T5 brochure gives the difference in length between SWB & LWB as 400mm.
No indication of distance from the side door to the back, but the load space behind the first row of seats is 1739mm in LWB and 1339 in SWB
Wheel bases are also 400 difference so they just slot in an extra 400mm in front of the back wheels it seems.

Hey teepeeat,
Can you check if this is still happening? yes
What operating system are you using: xp, vista, windows 7, mac?
What browser: chrome, internet explorer, safari?
What browser version: (You can go to your browsers options and click about for this)? mmmm, dont know and havn't found it yet
Whats the exact url you first try to login through i.e http://www.arbtalk.co.uk or arbtalk.co.uk.
Is that url the same on the second try? yes, I access Arbtalk the same way everytime
Cheers
Peter
when logging in today the user name and password box in the top right hand corner came up again instead of the welcome, unread posts, last visit info etc, but when I clicked one of the tabs at the top of the page then I get the welcome etc so it seems that I am actually logged in.
Apologies for the possibly confusing post - I am c..p at IT

And bad luck as if you burn it a family member is supposed to die. That's an old wives tale not my opinion.
can confirm it is an old wives tale - if it were true there would be nobody left in my family as our place was covered with them and have had to clear loads out the way just to be able to move around the place. Most have been small so just ended up in the brash burning pile.
Had been told the same about holly, but that's been burning lovely

thanks gents

They do actually make stetson hard hats over there - was shown one in Louisiana about 12 years ago.
Not to say it is any good for arb work

The Malloff book is quite old - 1982 according to Ian's link.
I guess the basics of milling have not changed, but what about something with modern equipment options? Or is google the only option?

Hi Steve
every time I log in, get the usual welcome message and the home page opens up, but I am not logged in. Always opens up OK on the second log in.
Cleared up a couple of days ago for a day or two, but now back to its old tricks??
Appreciate all the effort by the way

Anybody burned any elder?? Cut out some biggish ones that were choking a big old apple tree.

Just ordered - and cheaper than it was a few months ago when first tried.
Interestingly, they wont ship the sharpener
but acording to reports above it is shite anyway
Lets see how long it takes to arrive.

Guide price is not what it will actually sell for, unless there is a good reason for the low price of course.

Anti-Bramble Gauntlets | Bradleys Leather Tannery | Buy Online
These are what you need, Thorne proof and you can still use a chainsaw/hedge trimmer, even used them climbing before now, well topping a Hawthorne hedge. Last a couple of years if you look after them. Which makes £30 not too bad.
used a pair of welders gauntlets for bramble etc, no problems and cheaper

drink enough cider and you dont need to worry

Nautical terminology me hearty, boats have 'overheads' not ceilings.
