  1. I hope my mind can take it without my brain turning to mush. I'm sure I will be asking you many a question in the future.
  2. Haha, it seems I have quite a bit of reading ahead of me. I thought it was going to be a struggle to get a good answer for my question. I'm currently reading Matthecks book and several other basic ones which I'm currently working my way through (mattheck and shigo are the best I've come across so far). Can't wait to get my hands on some of these other ones. Thanks for your help again.
  3. As in depth as possible. Decay fungi which affect trees and how they affect them (I don't mind going into the cellular level). My main aim is to learn as much as possible about them.
  4. Hello, I am looking for a book which provides an in depth analysis of individual fungi. I have tried the yellow coloured books but they don't provide enough info. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks
  5. Thanks, it seems obvious now. Over time would that lead to severe heart rot?
  6. Hi, Just wanted to see if people agreed with my identification of this fungi. In my opinion it looks like it is a weathered Ganoderma applanatum. The host is an Acer. Thanks for your help.
  7. I'd suggest talking to Clark forest about it, as they already manufacture their own products. Good luck with it.
  8. Yes I've found that both ends gets a bit twisted and also the loop in the middle gets caught. Think I might just get a longer pole belt then. Thanks very much for your help
  9. I'd use a flip line aswell. I was thinking having a main line, then say a 15-20m line to use rather than faffing with the other end of your main line. I saw a large local tree firm using the technique the other day, and just wondered if anyone had any experience of it.
  10. Just wondering if anyone uses two lines rather than both ends of the same line for climbing (limb walking), and if so, how do you find it? Does it make life easier or is it more hassle than it's worth? Cheers
  11. Distel aluminium classic with velcro leg straps. Very light, brilliant foot positioning in relation to the spike. And most importantly extremely comfy. They are a good price as well.
  12. If the tree isn't being removed, then spiking up it is doing more harm than good. Spikes should only ever be used on removal jobs.
