There is a very good channel on YouTube called fully charged. Presented by Robert Llewellyn. Hope I spelt that right. The powerwall has featured on there. The alternative energy sector has been breaking records all this year. It's a good watch.

Other than a cv. Try calling firms and speaking directly to them. A cv can be miss placed or thought of I'll contact him later.

vertical speedline an option?
Oh yeah I had forgotten about that. I think That's a very good option

Mewp and take it piece by piece I would say. From what you said that the stuff at the top needs rigging could you free fall as much as possible* with or without mewp. To open up more space for the top sections to come down in to.
Ultimately go with what you are happy with. It's your job it's your call.
Would be interesting to see how much for there is once it's down safely.

How come the Winchmax winches are so cheap compared to the Superwinch Talon? Can you get winch rope instead of steel cable on the Winchmax winches?
Yes if you look On the link and then follow that to the item description it links to the website with more details and at the bottom of the page there is a similar/same winch with rope rather than wire

Try Barham trees they have a good website to help you see what you are buying but also a phone call to them will get something sorted even if it's just information.

Wot he said
I had one before I got in to tree work properly. And as Steve said it's not bad just not as good as a silky.

I saw lots of these when I travelled to bruge in Feb of 2016. Along side the railway. The Dutch have quite a few as well. I think they look very nice and would be interested in how they survive over time.

Ian,
from experience I would say that most people know very little about the ‘norm’ in tree works. Some think that removing a tree is all of the tree, that is there will be no stump, no anything. Most don’t even know that most deciduous species will coppice and regrow.
So, I think it is something that should be discussed at the time of quoting, educating the client if necessary about the probability of regrowth, the options and any additional costs.
I dont think that the opening posters’s client is unreasonable, complaining that the stump is regrowing. Obviously they didn’t know it could or expect it to. The error was not considering it at the time. We do this job day in, day out, and forget sometimes just how ignorant our customers actually are about things that we take for granted.
Personally, if the site was local I’d call in and treat it, after explaining that we don’t treat unless instructed too, just as a good will gesture.
Fair point

I would not treat automatically. It depends what they want to do with the land and also their views. I worked for a couple that doesn't use chemicals where possible. So we came up with different ideas.
The customer could of asked. what will happen to the tree stump?
If it was not discussed at time of quoting verbally and not stated on an letter with it all typed up. Then how can they ask for it to be done.
It would be no different for any other trade.

Ybs work wear are on eBay. Have a look on there that will give you an idea.

they are brilliant we had one today. Pulled a stick van out of an allotment. They can pretty much take anything you can drag to them. The company I work for has 3 of them. Can't fault them

Iam not an expert in anyway. But it looks like it was very close to the driveway I wonder if that was a contributing factor.

What i know of chapter 8. There are 2 courses one for supervisors and one for operator's. Could be worth a check with your insurer. As at the end of the day they are there when the **** hits the fan.
