  2. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HI ALL, I'm interested to know if there is a data base of sorts or a map showing where trees with TPO's are located. or is there another way to find out ? (without felling it pruning etc to then find out the hard way) the reason i ask is a friend wants to find out if their Tree is a TPO tree but i can't find out as the tree officer is away. The tree is a snake barked maple and is probably a self set and only about 20-25 years old maximum. also it is in the back garden of his house and a neighbours, but the neighbour insists it his my friends not his, he has looked on the survey taken of his house and there is no mention of the tree or any TPOs. He comes under City of Lincoln Council Thanks

  10. Hi all, Walked my dog about an hour ago and came across what looks like an elder tree. That's not the odd bit, but this is, it is sat at an angle root ball on the pavement and the canopy side of it resting on the hedge. Now i know this corner is an accident hotspot and all the (i beleive to be) elders in the hedge row are a good 9 may be 10ft high and most are leaning into the road/pavement ready to come down, (all dead of course) now i don't know why this tree being a good 9ft high is sat blocking the pavement the way it is. is there anybody who knows if maybe this is an attempt to hi jack a car ? it is on a main road side who could i contact to make them aware asap. Many Thanks

    Drainage

Hi Thanks for a quick response it is appreciated. in answer to your question all that i could find out was about the grid system, and how that works and the type of land it would be used on. but as for the rest i couldn't find anything all i could find was for highways drainage and footpaths etc. what you have described is a brilliant explanation of the systems and it as helped me out no end. As i said before it is appreciated Many thanks

  20. Hi, sorry to hear what has happened, A similar thing happened to my car a few months back,it was parked on our drive, and the council contractors came around strimming the grass around the drive. ok so far, next i hear a strimmer that is up and down through revving it, so i go to my window where i see them working. one of the personnel finishes and then decides to put his strimmer on the pavement and revves it to full facing my car to blow debris back onto the grass. in the process of him doing this stupid stunt he smashes my windscreen, pebble dashes the entire cars paintwork, and chips the front number plate. The car was severely damaged. so what i did was went and got photos of the damage to my car, and then phoned the council up (Lincolnshire county council) and explained what had happened quoting time date and location. They then say well it has nothing to do with them, so i asked who the contractors are who did the work, they gave me the details, Tilbridge landscapes ltd. i contacted them asked to speak to the manager of the firm, explained what had happened, they eventually after several days of me pestering them, admitted liability, i contacted my insurance straight away after them admitting this, and they arranged for my car to be repaired, it took over 3 months of waiting and phone calls before it got sorted and my got a respray, costing £5,000 for parts labor and paint, the contractors admitted that they had sacked the person responsible , as the day before he had smashed someone elses windows with a stimmer. to date the contractors insurance have not paid our insurance yet, and they still pester them for the money. and say if they don't pay then they will take the company responsible to court and sue them for the costs of the repairs etc. long and short don't give up just keep pestering the council ask them for the contractors details, and as soon as they have admitted liability they have to pay up, there is no way out of it Sorry for long essay Hope you get it sorted
  21. Basically i completed the level 2 diploma, last year, i have now moved to do the level 3 extended diploma, they do teach how to use the tools and the knowledge behind them, i.e cuts and pruning but what they do not teach is the costs for the cs tickets, they train you up to the standards needed to pass the exams but then you tend to go off and keep practicing until you feel confident enough to do them and pass, sorry if this does not answer what your trying to ask, if it does not then do tell me
  22. ah thanks i will look into them and get some ideas as to cost etc many thanks
  23. .....
  24. Thanks i realise your not being nasty, but again it is another option for me to look at,
  25. That could be something else i could look into that i didn't think of, although we only discussed it the other day
