  1. The best for me was Duke of Marlborough (Blenheim Palace) in the early 1990's. The old fella actually brought out a tray of tea's, including one for himself, and was really chatty and friendly. Theres also been Princess Ann, Liz Hurley, Isabella Blow (fashion designer), Camilla Parker Bowles when she was still Parker Bowles and Jilly Cooper!
  2. Thanks Justin, if you could do that it would be helpful. I don't for one minute believe it's still in mainland UK but you can't be certain. I will be in to see you in a couple of weeks, I think you know why!!!
  3. Thanks John, the pictures feature the actual machine that was stolen. I have also spoken to Keith today John..... I look forward to catching up with you soon!
  4. Please can you guys keep your eyes open for a GreenMech QuadTrack on a purpose built trailer stolen overnight between 06-07th Jan. It on demo to a company in Hampshire and stolen from their yard along with a very large quantity of chainsaws and climbing equipment. It should stand out as it is the only one in the south of England. If you spot one please can you report it to the GreenMech factory on 01789 400044 or Julian Cullis on 07717 282488. Thanks.
  5. I used to run 5.56T Iveco turbo dailys with custom built tipper bodies and roller boxes by TGS of Bristol. Fantastic trucks, highly reliable but because it is used commercially and is over 3.5T they require operators licences to run them. It sounds worse than it is, once granted it is a relatively easy procedure to keep it updated. The only pain in the arse is the need for recorded vehicle inspections to be carried out by a suitably qualified mechanic every 13 weeks. But, seeing as you potentially are carrying significantly heavy loads, what price on safety?
  6. Agree with Tom on that one....... whats the point of having jam if you haven't got the bread and butter to put it on? Good luck with your business fella, theres plenty of companies out there who will hire you in, I'm sure!
  7. The first British built chainsaw was designed by a chap called J. Clubley-Armstrong and built by an engineering company called T.H & J Daniels in my hometown of Stroud, Gloucestershire in 1941.It was sold under the brand name of Danarm. They originally had twin cyliner Villiers engines ranging from the entry level 80cc engine up to 350cc. The larger model took bars up to 7ft. In 1954 the first 2 stroke model was launched with a 98cc engine and a diaphragm carb so this light wieght, 28lb saw could be used on any angle, unlike its 4 stroke older brothers. Danarm were also the first company to produce saws with anti vibration systems, namely coil spring mountings. The company produced its last saw in 1984. God, I must get out more!!!
  8. Thanks for coming along yesterday, its days like yesterday that make all the effort worthwhile!
  9. Hi guys, Thought you might like to know that MST, the Tiverton based machinery sales company are hosting a free day at Buckfastliegh racecourse on wednesday 18th November from 10am until 3pm to promote GreenMech woodchippers and Makita power pruducts. It is not the usual "you stand and watch" type of demo day but one where you can all get your hands dirty and try all the kit out yourselves, so make sure you wear your full PPE! I hope this info proves very usefull to you all! Have yourselves a safe and prosperous week, Green man 1970
  10. Good to meet up with you today John, looking forward to seeing you at Buckfastleigh!
  11. Used to do this about 22 - 23 years ago around Gloucestershire. We had a chipper on the top deck and used to chip down through a hatch into the chip box within the lower deck. The bus is still parked up in the depot as far as I know, but who knows how long ago it was last road legal!
  12. :001_rolleyes:You'll have to read the article in the Hort. Weekly to find that one out!!
  13. GreenMech chippers v Timberwolf chippers for the Hort. Weekly mag.
  14. I would like to extend my thanks to the lads of Westonbirt Arboretum for their efforts last thursday (30th September) for giving up a day's section felling pine tree's to take part in a product testing day. I hope you lads got as much from the day as we did!!!
