  1. am 100% self taught, just keep carving, anything and everything, u can only get better, there are a lot of folk taking up carving these days so the better your work is the more it will stand out to folk that want to buy a piece
  2. yeah go to b&q and get the range of cutters they have, i use them for doin eyes and stuff all the time, a die grinder is a lot bigger but a real usefull tool to have to
  3. i use veg oil, but only on my carving bar chainsaws, it doesnt go black and stain the carving, for the bigger saws i only use oregon chain oil, your petrol shud run out before your oil does, remember that
  4. never be afraid to carve how u want to, we all have moments where we stop an think, "shud i cut that bit or not", just go for it, its only wood, if ye **** up make it intae firewood, an start again, ur owl is good, keep up the good work

  6. there just slotted in but, they can be secured, but its made of beech so it dont move easily
  7. well am 100% self taught, ud be better goin thru lantra to get ur chainsaw ticket, crosscutting and maintenance, i had to get that before i cud do work away from home or enter comps and do demos at shows
