I have a small parcel of woodland to clear for a landowner, it is mixed spruce and some large larch on a steep slope and is about a couple of acres,they have had the felling licence through and have to replant with broadleaf trees. Just wondering how should we leave the site once we have all the timber from there? And what you should do with the brash? Never dealt with a stand of softwood always been individual broadleafs. Any suggestions would be grateful.

  17. Hello der, Were can I by a lorry load of softwood "cordwood" from in Ceredigion? Is it true that the Forestry Commission will only sell you a minimum of three hundred tone? Bit to much for me at the minute! Also how much should I expect to pay per tone. I would take over sized stuff it would come in handy for the mill.

  21. Hello all, Just wondering does anyone else have one of these winches? And can you get parts for them. I found it in a skip! I cant get over how much it can pull.
  22. Hello there, has any one got any good ideas on how to air dry Sycamore,I have staked it upright in the past to stop i staining. Any new ideas would be welcome maybe some pics. Thanks/Diolch.
