2.
are you still looking for work as a hand cutter?

3. Hand cutters wanted to join existing gang from Sept 15 - March 16. Paid on production, last season averaged £123 per day. Training given to guys that are enthusiastic, but must be self employed, meticulous, organised, be able to tolerate graft... and generally awesome. Experience with purpose built forestry machines useful Help with accommodation if committed. West Sussex area. Chris @ CB Forestry. 07793017181
4. Supply and demand that's it. Same as housing.
5. Hi five for the Posch processor! We send off a blade once a year and we probably do 400-500 ton a year though our 350. cuts much faster than chains. The green and orange arnt without thier faults but i think they are generally better machines, not chep though. The diference in timber straightness and iameter is night and day though.
6. Only sold when i get the dosh and as of yet i have nothing!. I think ive got one artic going end of the week. I can get you a quote for an 8 wheeler as ive got a bloke from New Forest doing bits for us atm. Oh and dont worry about making up loads - ive got 23 tons+ more close by. Chris
7. Guys i use tend to do want to do east west runs. I would guess it would be 500 quid 400 for an 8 wheeler (no unrequested opinions please - it probably doesnt concern you!). Shame your not a little closer. I can get an exact quote in the morning if you want? Chris
8. Im not in the least bit worried about your weight concerns. thanks
9. located near Midhurst, West Sussex. Chestnut. 7.5ft lengths. Approx 50 ton (30 in piture. Must be gone, in one hit pref. room for artic. Chris 07793017181
10. I Don't think it is something Oregon has over looked? They know chains. Wannabe logger - leave the depth gauges to factory standard. It can make the saw very unpredictable if you don't. It does make it cut faster by taking them down -yes. But why would the consumer put up with sub standard chains out the box? if you need to sharpen it before use then take it back? The first time I sharpen I do take the rakers down by two strokes but to suggest a chain is better when 3/4 through its usable life is odd to me?
11. Each to their own. But this guy won't benefit from your advice imo. A new chain has no imperfections. And more of a cutting edge. My mate's like you... Only bins it when he has broken three or more teeth. Love's his notes! The physics don't work outfit me?
12. No chain is as good as when its new. When they get to 25% they are gone. Its just not worth it when you are trying to get buried quick and fast in mature Douglas' butt. Bin it and try to keep it out the dirt FOREVER!
13. Blimey mush....use these from time to time - (,.)
14. Two year old chestnut any good? 800/900 quid delivered?
15. ???? Are you familiar with the term forestry? even f@ck all has a value?
16. 3rd that! Its just the same as youtube. All fart and no piss! I hate it when competetors are hazzy about volumes. Honesty will provail. Failing that...if hes does turn up at your yard fight him, on your own, as hard and as long as you can! He wont come back. Nobody likes getting hurt.
17. By ready to burn I mean cut and split? If its in the cord and a cord is 3.6m3 then it is bloody expensive imo. That's what I'm getting at.
18. I could be wrong but I doubt it. Certainly not plus. My roof mount won't do it. And I dont remember doing a 4 ton log when I had my trailer? If as you say a log weights half if you lift it at one end your not gonna do the other without at least half the extension out and thus halving the lift cap? If nothing else I think people should be discouraged from putting excess stress in the poor crane. Use a handler and have a crane without cracks for a long time! X
19. Sorry that's wrong. 2800kg is the books rating without grapple and rotator, that two and a half ton. It is however a totally impractical measurement. You can't load a big log with a 2m radius! You can struggle on with a 70 cube oak butt if it has the length and the associated leverage.
20. I want to sell it and the old man might by it. I just want an unbiased view on value. Its about 10 years old with stick teeth, manual levers, brand new kholer 27hp petrol engine with 4 hrs. I thought 5k?
21. Approx 12ft long and 2ft wide at base with two off shots along the length. Top diameter of stem is about 8-10 inches. Email me for pictures. [email protected]. sensible offers. chris
22. Do you live in the outer hebs or something??? I am right in thinking thats not ready to burn?
23. i think you may have priced yourself out there my friend?
24. I said i'd be 'happy at 30 per ton'. some people pay stupid amounts for cordwood. There is always room for negotiation my good man. Im a fair man! I was expecting you to ty and pull my pants down at 15 per ton! give me a call 07793017181 Chris
