That was my thought, also a years notice! That's probably a Guinness book of records nomination, very good of you to be straight up front with current employer.
My boss has taught me so much about buisness and has been a loyal and good friend for many years . I'm training someone else to do my job as we speak and
It's all being done the best way possible . Treat others like you would yourself .

Working weekends and evenings to get a client base and extra cash for equipment is absolutely the best thing to do.
Just don't overdo it.
Good luck.
Cheers mick 👍

Hey AndrewT....are you in London this weekend?
Hi Paul I sent you a pm 😀 .
-
Which day are you going?
Probably Saturday 👍

I like the pro look but I bet people who don't know their trees think it's a dope leaf. Best of luck for next year!
That's why I didn't go green lol .
Cheers

Andrew the new work shirts look great!. Do you have a business plan, 6 to 12 months cash in reserve to only use for non business expenses?. If yes to both review your old business venture and compare with the new one. If the business plan has not changed the results may be the same. Having reserve funding to handle all of your non business expenses will also be critical going forward.
All the best.
easy-lift guy
Good advice
I'm scrabbling at the moment working my backside off to get things sorted and I'm actually doing very well indeed . I already see myself as succesful now it's all about the journey 😀. Look forward to seeing you at the APF and I love your easy lift harness it looks fantastic 👍

Think I'd rather a lad did it the way you are than do it all on the quiet and turn up at the busiest time of year nd say he's off in 2-4 weeks, good luck finding a replacement.
Looks very professional image your after putting across.
Hope it works for you this time.
Cheers very kind of you

Means the same thing, but that's not the point.
It just seems odd to say to your employer "I'm handing in my notice for March 2017"
What are you going to do with your clothing till then? Website, cards etc.
I think you're putting the cart before the horse a bit, that's all.
I may have confused the title a bit when I say burning ships I am talking about the willingness to succeed a captain actually burned his ships when he arrived on an island and told his crew now we must win or be killed . I am already working weekends and evenings through word of mouth but I have indulged a bit with the work wear and buisness cards but it's all about inspiring myself 😀 .
I do value your opinion mick and appriciate how you don't sit on the fence

A years notice? Bizarro.
I have known my boss since I was 16 and he is going to sub me after I leave .
Burning ships not bridges 😀.

Cheers 😀

After many inspirational words from friends and family and the thought that failure is not an option I have given my notice to my employer .
It's time for me to run my own business again but this time I am determined to succeed . I have given a years notice as I have the upmost respect for my boss it was just time for me to start again .
I don't start until March next year but I have set a few bits up ready including website buisness cards and some clothing from arborwear who have been fantastic . Here are a few pics of my logo and clothing .

Kernmaster or cougar blue .
I personally climb on kern and find it very good for srt and double .
I have never used cougar blue but everyone says it is very good .

As anyone applied for replacement certificates?
I've got a job coming up that requires proof of qualifications and I can't find my certificates, I'm guessing they got lost/thrown out when we moved house (can't remember seeing them since).
I've had a look on line and I can apply for C&G to search their archive, £44 each cert, wether they find them or not. I've five certificates that I need. I'm going to have to give it a go, I was just wondering if anyone had been through this and if so were you successful at getting replacements?
I managed to get all my certificates replaced no problem 👍

The only knots I use when climbing srt and working srt are timber hitch with stopper knot if I'm using a base anchor .
Or running bowline for top anchor or retrievable I use a alpine butterfly .
Sometimes I do use a secondary rope on the base anchor to shorten my very long climbing line .
-
Remember that SRT can be very simple you don't have to have loads of gear if you climb on a HC double system then you need a Rope wrench stiff tether and a foot ascender and away you go 😀.
-
Go rec climbing with people who climb srt .
That's how I picked it up .
Also what rich said .

So a few bits laying round the yard thought I'd have ago , loving the beech !! Superb colors , some elm and some cherry , defiantly hooked !!
I have always wanted to get one but never had the money at the time.

About an hour or so later, I was on the bus home after work and started feeling sick. Barely able to walk off the bus after an hours journey.
Had dressings on the blisters on my legs and arms for a couple of weeks.
.
Have you come across any where you work

Hi Ian
I'm really not worried people don't smoke orange cannabis lol.
House hunt is on hold until December due to one of my boys being diagnosed with dyslexia .
We are waiting to get one to one for him if we move now he won't get it .
Very exited about the APF and looking into chainsaws and stuff .
I won't be spending much just getting some ideas for next year .
