what is the strop for your silky i would like to see a pic if not to much trouble in response to what you said to rich about the 30% i normally just tell the client that i do a reduction of the whole crown to which is right for the tree never had any problems 30% stuff does not add up in my view.

hi paul i already use target pruning every day since i started what i mean really is shaping on reductions the whole canopy i target prune even the smallest branches with silky or secateurs but their should be more covering the bigger picture not just how to prune for fruit . I will have a look at the euro guide as i havent seen that before thankyou for your reply though

Today i got a reply back from a leaflet drop not the kind i was expecting the chap that i had posted the leaflet to thought that i had some how busted a limb on a medium sized willow in his rear garden then posted the leaflet to get the work. After sorting it out talking to the guy on the phone i went to see the tree which had split due to a hazard beam any way we priced the job up in the end and went on our way i know you have to be careful of rouge traders but that was just weird.

Hi im looking for tree pruning books that are good looking for stuff that is up to date about reductions and thining etc . I have been working with trees for a long time and pruning is my thing so i dont need basic stuff about growing points just new methods and such. Also equipment for reductions i like the tripod ladders so if any one can let me know how they are that would be good
