  1. Get off with ya!
  2. Who’s arguing? It’s a question that apart from a week link hasn’t been answered.
  3. I’m not interested in your guesses, has it ever worked, if so, which leader and which countries?
  4. You’d think the economic experts of this parish would have the answers.
  5. It’s finding one that’s the problem, I had one in Suffolk for £50/week with outside storage, can’t find one here in the Staffordshire Moorlands for love nor money. I’m special though.., fill ya boots Trigg.
  6. Has borrowing to fund tax cuts ever worked? Genuine this time.
  7. What he said was, someone in my dilemma. I've got some money from the sale of my last place, and I can get a mortgage for the rest, but I'm not getting back on the housing ladder atm. Waiting for others to go nap isn't a bad idea.
  8. It's not just about the poor, I've got some money to invest in a house, it simply isn't going to happen until the market settles. I read yesterday that hundreds of lenders have pulled out of the market, or pulled the deals they have due to uncertainty.
  9. Hang on a min, I’m with your way of thinking, but there are still many that aren’t. If someone is on what I call ‘big’ money they already have a gardener or cleaner if they want/need one, having a tax cut DOESN’T mean they will spend more, they will just squirrel it away for ‘Ron’, it certainly does not trickle down.
  10. Steady on, you know I’m the shy type.
  11. Do you want my honest opinion?
  12. I should have known I was being mugged.
  13. Are you sure about that? Trickle down economics tells me I will have some of your money.
  14. Unfunded tax cuts, I’m not sure how that works when people can’t afford their utility bills? My chance of buying that cottage up here have been dashed by recent mortgage rates…back to East Anglia it seems, not that I’m bothered… much.
  15. … yet the hard of thinking still believe it.
  16. 4. Deliberately trying to mislead people, oh hang on that goes back to Q1. Have a listen to her long pauses when she was interviewed on many bbc radio stations midweek, she isn’t thinking about the answer, she’s searching through her script for a pre planned response.
  17. Am I missing something here? The PM repeatedly said during her media round earlier in the week that no one would pay any more than the cap. If that's right you can heat your castle at the same price I can heat my 'van, it's nonsense. It's an average price cap per unit, not a total price cap, but that isn't what she was saying.
  18. If energy costs are capped at £2,500 (as Liz Truss) repeated over and over again on Wednesday, does that mean I can leave my heating on 24/7 through winter and pay no more than the cap?... of course not Why do these people try to push this nonsense on 'us'?, Truss' exact words were, "no one will pay more than £2,500 pa".
  19. Contracting is swings and roundabouts, for example if I do site work the rate is pretty much set, I either take it or leave it. On the other hand if I'm doing more complicated work I set my rate.
  20. The vast majority of my work is contracting, I give my rate and it's either accepted or it isn't, it's got nothing to do with me what I'm being charged at.
  21. You don't employ anyone not to make money off them, on the books, or contractors, if your rate is £200 I'd up that to the client.
  22. The only thing I don't recognise out of that is the merchants, I was at Travis yesterday and there were vans all over the place. Also on the few trade pages I follow everyone is looking for staff.
  23. Using someone’s picture on a website to footpaths, only here could it happen.
  24. Poor show by whoever wrote it then.
  25. Is it recognizable, or recognisable?
