  1. I am currently searching for a replacement brushcutter since my FS410 was stolen by the light fingered scum. I was set on another FS410 or FS460, but having read a few reviews etc I am reconsidering the Husky equivalent a 545RXT. I will be running it with a shredding knife attachment on thick scrub/brambles etc. So your views and opinions please?
  2. Hi i had this issue with both my XPGs, first one had shyte in the switch as Spud suggested, but it also had a cut in the wire where it comes from the coil pack, under the carb and out to the handle. the other had been given a real hard life and the coil behind the rotor was coated in thick crusty sticky film, i think a mix of sap, oil, grease, crud and fine saw dust, it was also so thick it had reduced the vent hole size on the starter cover, a real mess. both saws were purchased in this non functioning heated handle state 2nd hand and were cheaper as a result. personally i would never let my saw get in that state. after much cleaning and some TLC both are working perfect. the trusty 346xpg

    Which Saw

Following the theft of my two very lovely 346XPs which i loved and cherished i am faced with having to purchase replacements. the tasks are family firewood and volunteer work at least once a month on a 46 acre block of mainly softwood. so I am thinning, brashing, cleaning and felling up to approx 24" diameter. occasionally I do payed work for those that have had a tree down etc. If I could buy 2 x new 346XPs I have to be honest I would - however I am being steered towards 550XP, this sounded great until a couple of posts and people said they can be temperamental to start and that 'auto tune' is great until it plays up and then you are back to the dealer for resetting?? I am not saw precious or particular but have always preferred Husky and would like to stick with them. so advice/guidance welcomed am i worrying about nothing?? i can get a good deal at present 550xp for £500 complete with spare bar and 2 spare chains
