    Ecofan

yep I got one - the 3 blade version. Makes a difference for me, we have the stove at one end of lounge and digital thermostat at the other and since the ecofan went in it has upped the temp by 1-2 degrees at the thermostat. Before, the heat was all down one end as we have quite a deep fireplace and it was all stuck in there..
  2. My favourite wood is free wood:001_smile: at the moment I'm burning some apple, conifer and hawthorn, and the conifer seems to be best so far, followed by hawthorn, and the apple is a bit of a dud!
  3. slip of the fat fingers on the keyboard - quite right. I heard that Biomass has to be top grade to be accepted - right moisture content etc or they will bounce it at the gate
  4. Interesting! does it have to be dry or of any special grade for that? Sounds like a good way of using it up to me..
  5. just interested. we use some for cattle/pig bedding or in muddy gateways but any other interesting outlets or uses? Phil
  6. Drax just announced it's not going to burn biofuel after all... Drax power plant suspends plan to replace coal with greener fuel - Times Online however I think you are right in that supply will become tight as more folk burn all types of biofuel. Some cowboys are and will continue to fleece cutomers but I think if you have a good product at a fair price and a good delivery service you will do OK Phil
  7. hi all, been processing mostly arbwaste on a small scale as sideline to farming but demand makes me think I should get a load or two of logs in to process for next season - anyone know any good wholesale suppliers who can drop me a load in North Lancs or even from Cumbria? cheers, Phil
  8. These work very well - poacher alarm which fires a blank 12 bore round, use a bit of fishing line for tripwire. Just don't forget it's there.... William Powell
  9. just noticed this Hakki Pilke 1x37 on e-bay HAKKI PILK 1X37 FIREWOOD PROCESSOR 2008 on eBay (end time 26-Jan-10 10:52:19 GMT)
