  1. Ours did the exact same thing , they sent Kurosawa out to it and they fitted a new ignition barrel which sorted it.. weird that it could be the barrel but it was.

Mine was stopping the infeed rollers when anything other than brash was going through, new ignition coil fixed it too, apparently the terminals in ignition coil were dodgy and when machine vibrated it caused a break in the circuit.

  2. You reckon? runs as good as gold once its going, plus once it's warm there's no issue with starting

Probably not then, could be drawing air in from somewhere when its switched off as fuel is draining back hence why it would run fine once it gets going, had this happen before.

  3. Forst tr8 do have a good following by the sounds of it.

Wouldnt get another jensen as not enough dealers.

Did you know spectrum plant are opening a depot in leeds?

Get one on demo. When i was at spectrum collecting my 230 i looked at the 280 but thought they looked a big lump! Esp next to a 190. Decent sized rollers and hopper though!!

So did the TR6 Swinny

When is that opening? no Timberwolf dealers around here its barmy!

  4. to be fair there still a tad new ,but hopfully some one may be able to help you out,

what else have you looked @

Getting a demo on bandit 75 xp on tracks "cant help thinking size of machine will be too big & still a 7" machine"

Forst are loaning me a Tr8 while my Tr6 is in AGAIN! highly unlikely to but 1 though.

What else is there? i really cant afford to be test subject for a machine not fit for purpose again, i want to buy something that will last and that is productive.

  5. I have loved having a bigger machine the last 2 yrs life is just so much easier thar why I'm contenplating going bigger still, we gave the 8 " tracked jenny and the little gm arborist fir run of the mill domestic jobs. The 280 is the 190 replacement some great features but by he'll it spits some big bits out the back.

That is another reason why I am concerned about a bigger chipper as we still do loads of small domestic stuff, its a bit overkill. Cant really afford have surplus machines.

  6. You will find all Bandit feed speeds are slower compared with other manufacturers, we have the largest feed apertures in the industry & you cannot feed at these faster speeds when your taking in that much material. We asked Bandit about increasing the motor speed but that was met with an abrupt no. I've always said if it was easy to put in these large letterbox openings everybody would have done it years ago.

In your finest pitch why choose a bandit over the rest? I hear they are good machines but why?

  7. Was actually working at the nursing home but yea though it was you, only day I got out on site that week so was a fluke.

I had a 75xp on demo before I got an St6, ki wasn't over thrilled don't get me wrong you WON'T have any build issues but they are slow on the in feed, I then got an st8, hell of an 8" machine but there is proving to be build issues not taken with the tw 280 so far, the gm will be good but I'm just thinking of going bigger with a bandit .

A reliable machine is half the battle, I agree with having a bigger machine, some of the stuff we have done in the last few weeks would of being much easier with a bigger infeed. Is the 280 equivalent to the old 190?

  8. Funny I'm in the same position Simon, my st8 has let me down twice in 2 months with roller issues, no actual build issues with paint etc but I'm worried about having it when the warranty is out, bloody shame as it chips so well. You will be sorely dissapoted with a bandit 75 against a forst though Simon (imo) yes the bandit will chip and last for ever but it's slowwwww against the forst, the bigger bandits are a totally different story though. I have a tw 280 on demo from last Friday to tomorrow night, looks good, nice features but not as good at chipping and it spits as much out the back than it does the front, I would hate to use it near a road or foot path etc, the 230 doesn't do this I'm told but the 280 is bad. Got a gm arborist 200 coming from Pete but I'm also thinking of going to a bandit 90xp on a twin wheel chassis, weight isnt an issue as we have an 8 " tracked jensen and a 6"gm for smaller jobs.............will keep you posted!

Redwood are collecting the machine and loaning me a tr8! They are excellent at looking after customers I must admit. Like you say the machine chips well but its just not reliable enough, I need to speak to global but just being busy lately...have you had a bandit before?

Saw your firm few weeks ago up in methley at church.

  9. That is the way most do it.

To me im just gna wizz them. I even pay for the genuine ones. Busy doing all sorts dont need to add sharpening teeth aswell :thumbup1:

But I am a tight yorkshire man and do not understand the concept of "throw it away". Even if you sharpen them twice its a lot of grinding

  10. try a tracked tw230 on a hire/demo.if access to some sites is an issue,

That is sort of the dilemma, at the minute having a narrow access machine is good for the work we do but i want to come away from domestic stuff and do bigger commercial jobs so access wont be as much of an issue. + i wanna be able to feed the machine with skidsteer.

  11. Brand spanker, they have rectified the problems i have told them about, the tinwork i have only just seen. Its not reliable so its ok redwoods having good customer service but its still time its sat not working and or time i have to come off site while an engineer fixes it. What happens when its out of warranty ? new chipper time i think
