  1. i like the rotties and sleeping bag option but somehow i dont think the missuis would be too happy lol...ive just spent £200 on 3 locks un a cropper resistant chain...has any1 heared of those trip wire things? its a blank shotgun cartridge in a holder round back of door and like fishing wire across the door so when u walk into the wire the cartridge goes off??? what they called?

  2. ive thought about taking wheels off but 1st time they go in an see no wheels second time they mite come back with wheels "doesnt take much 2 get crappy wheels on it" ive seen those battery powered alarms thought about that too just think they wouldnt be right loud???i can back the van up to the front of garage door. its the back thats the problem though because its that sectional concrete crap its only got 3 bolts in each section thats why i was going to put bollards behind it too...how much are those trackers??

  3. ive recently bought a new chipper the only place i can keep it is in a prefab garage opposite my house! its pretty dark and quiet there and plenty of people will see the machine goin in and out so this weekend im gettin some welding going i thought about 2 steel posts concreted in behind it that cant be removed a security bollard infront to box it in with a lock box ova padlock "made from 5 mill thick box section not 1 from wickes made of wotsits" a ground anchor underneath chained through A frame and a lock box over towing eye so it cant be hitched up and towed away oh and a wheel clamp!!! when i think about it it seems exessive but i really cant afford it to get stolen! any1 got any other ideas? oh an theres no way of gettting power to garage so an alarm in out of the question! any ideas would be greatly apreciated.

  4. i just sent a msg asking why it needed all them bits if its done no work at all seller says and i quote "I thought it was fair to sell it with the new belts & rollers.. Is this a bad thing ?" sounds too good to be true! just asked if i could view it and if they have prof of ownership...am sure ive heared somewhere that entec/timberwolf can find out who owns the machine from the serial number do you know if its true?

  5. just seen on ebay a 2000 entec 35dh looks brand new says its only got 70 hours on clock:confused1: surely this is wrong?! asked the seller if the clock is wrong and when was last service and if its had new pullys rollers belts etc seller replys " the clock is correct its had little use and its recently had new pullys belts and rollers"! im no expert but surely a machine thats only done 70 hours would not want new pullys and rollers? i can understand new belts as rubber would perish even with no use? sounds fishy to me.

  6. ive been fully qualified 4 quite a few years now although ive neve done tree work full time! am 27 ive worked on a farm for 11 years and for roughly 8 of those ive worked most weekends with my friend whos a full time tree surgeon basically all of the work we get is through word of mouth. theres not really enough work to set up on my own an go full time allthough ultimatly this is what i wanna do. ive got the funds to buy more tackle so we can do bigger jobs and most other things are already in place. im just worried about making the leap into the unknown how could i get more work in? what if i cant get enough work in? what do i do when winter comes round? an also the van weve got is battered i dont think it will last another year am just concerned about laying a load of money out on a new van then finding out ive not enough work for it! anyone else either in my situation or has been there??? any advice about starting up would be greatly apreciated
