  1. Why would it? With a simple muffler mod you are just opening up the restricted flow of gasses. Which will actually cool the pot & piston down

extra stress on the conrod/crank with faster acceleration i think was the excuse, to me it makes it more betterer an stuff..

  2. used a makita for about 5yrs with a robin engine, never any probs, starts second pull everytime, treat it to a carb kit every year or so and it just keeps going.. unlike the stihl i bought new 12mth ago that takes up to 10pulls to get going and dies after ticking over for 30secs..(nice reach though)

  3. always worth modding for more performance, my 460 was a bit disapointing when new, but 3mths in i got the stihl exhaust mod minus the spark arrester and bigger dogs, the difference was amazing, revs up faster, cuts quicker and when started at 8am makes people really upset with the extra noise..

  4. only just read this thread, was thinking a santander was a lizard haha, i hate going into banks, supermarkets or even the town centre because you are expected to follow the dress code.. was in scotland a couple of months ago shopping for whiskey with my bro, we had just raced the dogs down the hill in 3ft snow and was a right state, the first whiskey shop suggested we went to the supermarket, then we found a decent shop and my bro spent £350 on a bottle with excellent service.. we did consider snowballing the guy in the first shop:thumbup:

  5. I work in an office, hence not practical.

    1) Helped the lads load up a 20-25cm girth tree by hand, we could not lift it on the truck, it was pointed out, I was standing on the tail end of the rope wound around the rootball to assist lifting. I am not light.

    2) A 21ft scaffold pole, scaffold clip at one end. waiting for a team to return late due to the M25, thought I would help by removing the clip. I lifted one end upto make the undoing of the clip easier. I achieved this, but as I did, the scaffold pole fell, onto my toe, in much pain I went home where my brother saw me take off my sock, blood was building up behind the nail, he said leave it to me I can sort this, he heated up a six inch nail, pierced the nail, blood hit the ceiling. Went to A&E cause it was still hurting, they said who did this (relieving the pressure), they could not believe it was a (non medically trained ) brother using a 6" nail. It was end of a shift, all of A & E came to see as well as all of the new shift. Went home, (with broken big toe) told by brother, he then revealed he had only ever read about it.

think your bro went overkill on that one.. we use 1mm drillbits heated up so hopefully sterilised and carefully drill just through the nail to relieve the pressure.:thumbup1:

  6. is the air filter clear? a blocked air filter means less air going in with the same amount of fuel, thats a rich mix to breathe in, blast it out with airline from inside with your eyes shut or wearing goggles.. might be worth cleaning the excess gunk off the plug too before you re-start it, wire brush and hold it in pliers over a flame.. Ed.

  7. looking very nice, the paint on my car is so soft grass leaves a scratch, total crap and not like it used to be.

last time my paintwork was scratched by grass it was on its side on the motorway verge (not my fault). come on rob we need more piccies:thumbup:
