  1. Estwing with a leather handle are axe porn.... had one 6 years, got one for dad and both brothers'-in-law! lovely weight like their hammers, hardly ever needs sharpening and the leather cord is good on the hands... think screwfix and most toolbank builders' merchants stock them for approx 40 nicker...
  2. hi, we've ben trtading for almost 9 years, and i had a 'moment' earlier this year. We are trying to promote our timber buildings (bespoke offices, play huts, play areas, chicken sheds etc) so that we can work year round and sometimes inside!! I still find it very hard to say no to those silly little non earners or clients that mess you around year after year... but you have to be tough and run with something new otherwise you will be one of those old miiddle aged moaners... best piece of advice i can give one man banders is don't be!! EMPLOY SOMEONE!! you then have to make things work, get out of bed, push the prices etc etc then you have someone to have a laugh with/ blame during the day....;-) alex ps lots of firms round here just doing lawn maintenance and new lawns???
  3. I'd recommend holmes too, they will do you a mix per 10m stretch, including field maple etc is fairly traditional, they are very helpful and it's not expensive, you will need to wait at least a month before they will be doing the bare root whips.
  4. it's a lovely spot in east knoyle, couple of nice pubs if you are staying over! i've done the same, usually for mates/family rates, you just have to grin and bear it! give us a call like i said, and give us a rough time to come and load, or if you need a hand if job is a little bigger than you thought.....
  5. cool, let me know when you need it collecting, any idea what day? alex
  6. hi there, i am up the road (5 miles) in Dinton, i have an ifor tipper so could take 2.5t loads of the timber, perhaps some chip too? give us a call on 07711 693734 cheers alex
  7. you can tell if you are drinking enough fluids ( not just water) by your pee... you should still be peeing and should be clearish, not at all yellow;-) also try abit of squash and keep the back of your neck cool, sunglasses too! and dont work so hard!
