  1. That's a new one on me ! Do you have any more info on this ? Are they soon to be doing a ecu test on a mot ?

yes they are doing it on mot time as well as testing the trailer light sockets work ok this due to the fact that the tow bar and fixings are now part of mot checks. the new ecu tests are due to the theory that increased power=overworked brakes and also having it remapped = modified vechile an may be not declared to to insurance companys....... [get out clause if you need to make a claim]! me think eu stinks.

  2. If its an 88 or 90 its not a hicap. The HCPU is on a 110 wheelbase. (some 130s have a version of it.) It has beefed up springs and the rear tub is wider than a normal one, with a full width tailgate, and seperate from the cab, which makes them the perfect donor vehicle for a tipper conversion.

Also did series 3 109s as hi caps.

  3. Is anyone going down to their local hunt meet on Boxing day?

no way been there ,done that ,seen sense. hunting these days is mainly full of over weight ,toffee nosed people who carn't ride very well .i shall be muck spreading our fields when the hunt expects to come through ha ha ha!.more importantly is these so called hunt followers driving around in there RR sports cars blocking up the lanes for us locals, also with our local hunt there is about 4/5 pratts ripping up down the lanes on quads ..... no tax ,no helmets ,no reg numbers on them and riding 2up.....how do they get away with it beats me! .

  4. Oil delivery time is 3rd week in january round here , they are delivering to the needy first . The price has rocketed to nearly 80p a litre

I am now getting twice as many log orders in as i can cope with

How do you say no to the old dear who has no heating

hi,had a delivery of heating oil on thursday after waiting for one week.... price was 50.9p liter for 1000 liters .

  5. hi, thanks for your replys but im not milling just normal use , but there is more dust getting thro to the engine than i would like or more than any other Stihl saw i've got. My filter is not blue brillo type so a trip to the dealers or phone one who advertise on Arbtalk to see if they have the part in stock.

  6. hi, got a ms660 and i dont know what the heavy duty air filter looks like as my current filter appears to let a little saw dust thro.Current filter consists of a oval shaped plastic filter with a flatish type filter behind it.Is this set up standard or hduty? If its not hduty does any body know the Stihl part no.The saw is less than six month old and i would like to keep it a while... hence not wanting saw dust in the engine! [ god knows why Stihl havent adressed this matter].

  7. Abysmal mpg here. Big muds and roofrack dont help.....and heavy ish right foot lol. I dont reckon i get much, if any, over 20mpg loaded with chipper etc too. Somehow its 2.3 tonne empty too which cant help.

ha,i used to get 20 mpg on my 110 v8 and that had a bit of poke about it! all my current landys run on bfg muds.

  8. Just finished a job in Winterley (Cheshire) when I heard a loud bang and scraping noise coming from the trailer............My Jo Beau 300 :blushing:had jumped out!

Forgot to check the tailgate was locked.

I have bent the front bar. Anyone any thoughts on re-bending it back?

hi,i do have a 15 ton hyd press if ever you need one to straighten anything, and i'm only 20 odd miles from you.

  9. Steve

Has Arbtalk been rebooted lately. I only ask as I now get a fatal error if I try to get on through the .co.uk site so I have come on through the forum. However all the screens are different with a grey body instead of brown then when you click on a thread it becomes a white background. I dont no whether it is significant but prior to that for the last 2-3 days going on the .co.uk site would reveal an errornotfound file if you then backpage it would then let you into the Arbtalk log in screen as normal. Just reporting now while I still can hope it can be fixed.

same problem here for 2/3 days.

  10. That's because they are nice clean uniform looking logs, use a band saw as a firewood processor, end product worth three times as much, you will learn, learn , learn

yes point taken, but are they really worth that sort of money? And dont forget the vat and delivery! This is a big eye opener to me as the guy has sold a 100+ bags .wish it was me!
