I think I know exactly what your after! It is the same as the Merrist Wood ones....back in the day when I was a young man. I'll get picture tomorrow and slap it on here.... this one is not for sale!! Hi Jon I have to confess that I am not that familiar with quarry belts in great detail and would be concerned that whilst they may work for lighter stuff a 8 wheeler grab (prefered weapon on this job) would be too heavy for it given the saturated state of the ground. I could be wide of the mark on this though and would like someone to correct me if I am wrong. Any quarrying / farming types browsing the forum with loadsa cheap used wide belts to get rid of?!! Don't ask dont get!

I am looking for some form of robust ground protection that will handle the upto the weight of a loaded 8 wheeler grab lorry (ideally!) that needs to cross part of a cricket pitch / grounds with out leaving a mess!! Has anyone had experience of the plastic ground mats? The distance is up to 180m from road side so I don't think I could get hold of enough old conveyor belts as used by another arbtalker! The plastic version looked tempting over the metal mats mainly due to weight and ease of installation without heavy equipment. Also I hope that plastic is less desirable to our "recycling" friends:001_tt2: Has anyone had experience of the plastic matting -good or bad? Also can anyone recommend a supplier? I am toying with idea of buying rather than hiring in as it may prove useful for future awkward jobs - if the price is right. Thanks for any feedback.

What model of hilux is it? I have a Mk6 with the same problem. Turn out to be the clock spring /spiral cable in the steering column. Apparentley it is known fault on this model - assuming it is the same model. Have you done 60K+ miles? Last time I checked it was £360 +vat:w00t: for the part at dealers ($14 on alibaba from china!!) I believe it is a couple of hours to fit. Auto electrician disconnected it so nothing unexpected will happen. The light stays on but as I have no intention of using the airbag (save your safety lecture peeps) it doesn't bother me. I 've driven around for years in green oval products without airbags.... or decent brakes! Most importantly it past the MOT at the council test centre. Sweet:thumbup:

It may be worth contacting Surrey Power Machinery in Claygate who I understand have recently bought Landforce.(Sorry if this is not correct but a salesman told me ) I don't have their number to hand but you can probably get via Richmond Groundcare 01428 658487 who are a sister company. Good luck!
