Hi R.W. I would highly recommend 'The Grafter's Handbook'. It is quite old but still the only book with as much info on the subject. Sometimes see copies on ebay for not too much money. Another good old book is 'Tree Fruit Growing' by Raymond Bush' I graft and bud a lot of fruit trees each year but ornamentals are not really my thing.

Birch sap wine is great. You can get about a gallon of sap of one tree. Got to wait until April for that though.

Hi. I'm new to this forum. Saw this thread and just thought I would add that I've found "Woodlands a practical handbook" by BTCV really helpfull for planning and pricing such work. I think it cost about £15 but well worth it. Daniel
