  2. got a job comming up to do some work on quite a few trees and has ive only been doing small jobs occationally while mainly doing building and construction ive yet to get public insurance. as alot of others, me and a few others are thinkin of slowly building our own business over the next few years and want to do things properly. can anyone advise on insurance companys? more important than the rates are the company, as i will intend to be with them for some time. any pointers would be wicked cool. cheers
  3. was down cornwall start of summer training with pip thompkins, was watchin him sned with amazment, lightning quick, perfect flush and looked like the log was floating in mid air the way he picked out the underside branches
  4. was gutted, both with the loss and the draw, but roberts and o'driscoll one of the best pairings i seen. and big smile on my face when shane started moving on tues, once on for a moment, but still left 5 or 6 boks red faced, need him back to six nation days. anyone watchin it round ealing, as seem to always just be sittin on me own, not a good impression in an alcho pub!
  5. yea im comming dude, im booked in the 22nd of june, cant wait. seems to be dragging out longer tho, as havent got any tree jobs on so its all painting and dec, tiling and rubbish mordern carpentry till then. gonna see if i can get me 38/39 after, but just have to see what the weather says as im camping. whens the cherry coke surf festival on in newquay?
  6. is this called finca bellavista? have been looking at their web page for ages, amazing stuff their doing,beautiful tree houses. im not a tropical man, thats the only thing, wanting to go somewhere colder rather than hot, surprising i know. cheers tho buddy, food and board is a good idea, hadnt though bout that kinda stuff

  8. so just got my results through from my arboriculture c+g, three distinctions and two merits! good weekend of celebrations i think. got my four cs comming up in newquay soon, but after that i have an idea to go to some wilderness to work, been in london too long now and miss the open country side. anyone know of remote places to go and work?scandinavia, canada or wales? any other courses i should consider? im happy to do any form of arb or forestry, just as long as it envoles getting away from london and seeing something beautiful,with nice hard graft in between any advise/ideas would be very welcome.

  11. the monkey puzzle bowl is amazing.love how the knots are so regular. beautiful turning. might have to keep my eyes open for some to dry and give it a go
  12. so last sat was having a rollie in the garden, and noticed that next door had their sprinkler on, in their bed just the other side of the fence. no problem, but ive just got back home today, and it was still running. its absolutly water logged our side beds, which happens to have in it a fourt five year old beautiful shaped acer palmatum, and a thirty year old dissectum atropurpureum. had a massive go at her(shes very dipsy) but now bit stuck what to do, anyone have any ideads? ive put some 1"x4ft deep drain holes in.are they going to be ok do you think? if they die, any legal advise as they are worth alot. cheers
  13. gotta be no manners, and when your at the bar and someone cuts you up, knowing dam well you were first,and then forget their drink order, paying by card, forget something else, and drag the whole thing out when i just want a pint and to read my book and drivers not indicating and then swearin at you when you think its cool to cross
  14. defo agree with you geoff, was in a coffee shop yest and the lady asked if she could have her plate and cup put in the microwave to kill the swine flu that might be on it, insane

  16. was working for a landscape company last year and a bloke turned up to do a holly tree over hanging, had a few rollies with him and he recomended i check out capel manor, just wonderin if anyone knows him as id love to say thanks for gettin me into this, name was henry, well spoken and drove a white landy, this was around barnes, london but also saw him in clapham, london

  20. cheers for all the advise guys, ill go speak to them today.recon taking them out and replating is best idea. is a shame tho, really healthy looking tree. many a coldbeer and bbq underneath it in summers past! gonna be a big change in their garden tho, two gum trees at the end taller than the robinia need taking down too. skinny things tho, not quite sure how to get up to the needed rig point, about 20 ft of smooth stem, 4" thick, and moves like crazy in the wind
