I thought it was Eminem in the background when I was rushing around trying to get ready for work . I must be really uncool as I've never heard of him, but as you say, the lyrics are actually pretty good.

I can only echo what everyone else has said... WOW! That is a beautiful piece of carving

(Collin's) Trees of great Britain and northern Europe
x 2. Although the key takes a little getting used to as the trees are arranged by leaf shape.

what would you say the best tree identification book is? yes im after one...
You will never have just the one. They're addictive
Do you want a field guide or a multi volume coffee table book? Photographic or just text? History and uses or solely botany? Only the more frequently encountered species or all species?
And the biggee - how much do you want to spend?

Here's one I did last year for my toddlers, not too scary.
That's very good .
If only I could have that and the pyrotechnics and not the mini chav extortionists doing their trick or treating this year.

Ok, here goes... Without the I'd books as I'm at work so..
Acer beurgerianum Top marks
Albizia julibrissin 10/10
Eucalyptus deglupta Nooo. Though it's a toughie just from the bark. It's Arbutus menziesii
My best guesses?
Thanks janey:thumbup:

Not bad, my dear (said in my most elderly tones while looking over my half moon glasses LoL).

Phaeolus?
(I'm preparing for the laughter at my amateur guesses already... . LoL)

Agreed, was at home most of the day yesterday and I don't think I even saw it once on the news
Ditto on that.
I was working in the moring so missed the live GP and I'm only just catching up on the news now.
A sad day for motor sport and a horrendous day for Sic's family and friends (and the other riders). My thoughts are with them all.

If you are supplying the survey for your friend and not directly for the Hotel, then see if his (or hers) insurance covers you.
I don't do enough private surveys to warrant my own insurance so I always make sure I'm covered by whoever I'm working for.

Looks like a great job, pity its 300 odd miles away, that'll be a commuter and a half:001_rolleyes:
Ditto on that .
It's a good salary for the level and it's a nice part of the country; it's going to make someone very happy.
Thanks for posting

... sheesh you wouldnt believe the list of brain slowing things that happened to me:001_rolleyes:
I find simply being blonde covers every brain dead eventuality and is my all encompassing excuse. For everything. You should try it.

is it?
I have no idea who it is:blushing:
Oh you uncultured philistine, you. LoL . It's an interpretation of one of Vincent Van G's, innit?
Forgot to post that one....Senior moment? It looks like you caught it when it was a lot fresher and more vibrant. What a great way to hide the scaffolding.

Ps the database is still coming along in the background janey, uni gets in the way though!

Uni, and fambly, and work, and life... Excuses, excuses for getting in the way of creating MY data base. LoL.
Have you got Mabbs' little corkers listed yet?
-
Obvious, isn't it?
-
Nope, I can't say I did instantly.
This may help . I've been peripherally involved with green wall and roof installations and I thought this one outside of The National Gallery was really good, more from the point that it raises public awareness of the possibilities that you can achieve with a bit of imagination

Spot on! I passed it today, never heard of Q. pontica, I couldn't quite believe it was a Quercus.
Have you been hanging out in Kew Gardens today or sumfin? I haven't (knowingly ) seen any of the trees that you have posted.
Love the apical buds on that Quercus - they're remiscent of so many genera other than Quercus!!!

Not too south, Barchams in Ely.
They would have been my first choice, but as you say, a bit of a yomp from Poole.

I can`t see an option to book a place, do we just turn up?
Apparently, we do. I checked with them way back when the senior Mr H originally mentioned it, bless him

That's a great film, beautifully shot and with a very emotive subject.
If I hadn't been at work, I may well have cozied in to watch it too

I don't even want to think about how many portions of pumpkin soup you'd be left with after wittling one of them monsters...
