  1. I find it hard not to take that as offensive to be honest.

I suppose you're fortunate Mrs Rover is away for the week:sneaky2: I put the pic up as my avatar so I can still look at her while she's away:001_smile:

If I'd meant to be offensive, I wouldn't have posted, if you see what I mean. You must've expected a few (good humoured!) comments with that avatar though? In the same way that if I'd wanted the attention of posting my breasts up as an avatar I wouldn't be that surprised if it promted the odd comment or two :sneaky2:

  2. Neil Manning Arb. manager 020 8825 6685

    Richard Clews Arb. officer 020 8825 6463

    Gary Drew Arb. officer

    Dale Mortimer Arb Officer 020 8825 6547

    .

Oh you're soooo last season :001_tt2:. Neil's been at LBH&F for a few years now.

As a member of the public you won't be put directly through to anyone in the Arb' section if you call the Council number(s). The call centre staff have been very well trained by the previous manager there and now know that giving out officers' mobile numbers is a very BAD thing to do. In theory, all new enquiries are looked at within 24 hours and anything deemed an emergency will be "flagged" and also a call centre staff member will wonder over to the nearest TO and pass on the details verbally.

It may also be worth trying Gristwood's, depending on the nature of your original post, as they are the Borough's fixed term contractor.

For any London Borough, contact details for the TO's can be found at Borough Contacts (List), although it does tend to be a bit out of date. You know how these TO types like to swap Boroughs every six months

  3. We all make instant judgements on people's appearance, either consciously or unconsciously. It's a survival stratagy that has served us well. Tattoos and body pircings on display to a customer are only a small part of what you are assessed on.

I'd say that clean, neat clothing appropriate to the occasion, personal hygeine, demeanor and your choice of vocabulary will inform your customer's opinion of you way before your inking.

My tat's hidden, unlike my 200mm ear pirecings. They have caused some a few comments in the past, but always out of curiosity.

  4. It wasn't mandatory on our recent Senior Arb post, but is listed as desirable.

But that's not what you are after.

    .

Au contraire. It's just the kind of thing I'm after.

Any recent job advertisment that requires the PTI, whether it's a desirable or an essential qual' for the position, adds weight to my argument that it is becoming the industry standard for someone at my level and that my employment prospects will be greatly increased if I have it.

Can you send a copy to me, if it's not still available online?

  5. ... i would have taken at least 50% off considering the distance to the building and road...

Why would you have reduced it so heavily, out of interest? Was it extensively decayed or were there FBs present? If there were, was the tree owner made aware of this and the implictions? Not that it will make any immediate difference to the bus driver, the poor / lucky man.

  6. Did any one else read about this a few days ago?

Girl, 14, sees father bleed to death after accidentally slicing his neck open with a chainsaw two days before Christmas | Mail Online

What a terrible accident. It makes me wonder if it was caused by a kick back of some sort, perhaps by checking the oiling (see the quote below)? Whatever the reasons, it's still a tragedy and my thoughts go to the family.

'It was horrific. We don't know what happened exactly but the only thing I can think is that the chainsaw jumped up and the force threw him backwards.'

  7. I'm needing your help :001_smile:

I'm putting a bid together to try and get some funding for doing my PTI course in 2012. Part of this will mean showing that there is a demand for this qualification in our industry and that my chances of gaining employment will be greatly increased when I have added it to my other qual's.

If anyone can PM or email me directly ([email protected]) with any current or archived job adverts that specifically ask for the LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection I will be your bffe
