  1. A friend of mine owns an oil company called 'Somerleyton Oils' he's always keen for new business, give him a call on 0800 1977 189, his name is dave podger, there's not much he can't beat or do. Somerleyton Oils :: Suppliers of domestic, agricultural & industrial fuels & lubricants
  2. You should be able to get an answer almost immediately as to the status of the trees, the whole application process normally takes 6-8 weeks for them to approve or decline your application, When I check I just give the address of where the work needs doing and ask 'are there any tpo's or is it in a conservation area?' I don't give details of what work is required at that stage. I have had one before where the garden I was working in wasn't in a conservation area but the gardens either side were!
  3. I use John Gillbert of tree ventures for any work like this. He is local to you, I am sure you can get a quote from him and put a margin on top for yourself. I find this the best approach as it takes any possible problems off of your shoulders. his website is http://www.treeventures.co.uk
  4. I'm busier this winter than the last four, enquiries are still coming in, I find that I am looking to create more work by quoting for extras such as log splitting on site for customers. The silly thing is that the customers could buy seasoned logs from me slightly cheaper than what I am charging them for 1 man and machine to attend there property and split there timber that I have felled, but that's business!!
  5. Hi, I am a qualified loler inspector, I done my course along with richard olley through treevolution. I live in meopham, give me a call to discuss further on 07967 396917 Cheers, Dean.
  6. I have a customer who has moved to whitstable in kent and she wants to buy logs by the load. Can anyone help in that neck of the woods?? If you can mail me your details so that I can pass them onto her. Thanks.
  7. I have tried the nfu twice in the past for pli and both times they told me they wont insure me because of climbing too high? I presume the prices you guys are on about include climbing with unlimited height?
  8. I find most gardens can take 30"-36" width, the other problem i feel with the larger machines is getting round corners etc. in some gardens. I still fancy the Bandit HB20 as i like the pivot idea to make life a bit easier with a handlebar machine, and the ability to get into the majority of gardens. I would love some feedback on the bandit machine?? I want what most people probably want and that is a machine that can get anywhere with a decent amount of power for doing the job and at a resonable cost! I don't want much??
  9. I feel that it may be a bit large for some gardens to get round corners etc. how do you find it??
  10. I was thinking of maybe a predator 26 but read bad reports on the clutch on here.
  11. I send mine off to saturn machine knives for sharpening, they tell me when i need new ones. They do get very close to the line though.
  12. hi bazbro, i'm fine for a trailer, i have an ifor williams plant trailer and a 4x4 ready for the ginder.
  13. hi snowy, how did you find the hb20?? worth looking further into or not??
  14. Hi, I am new to this site so bear with me! I am looking to buy a stump grinder within the next few months but would like some feedback as to which to buy. 95% of my work is domestic so access is the biggest issue. I have been thinking of the bandit hb20 any feed back on this?? I am open to all suggestions! cheers, dean.
