  1. does it only cut 280mm timber is that big enough for you. we are looking at 370mm as our machine is too small for 60% of the cord wood on the market.

POSCH Leibnitz - Woodspliter, Circular Saws, Cut Splitters

It looks that way, and I agree. Even a 370 mm will be too small at times. No point having a processor that only takes half your cordwood:001_unsure:

(obviously if its cheap enough, you can always resell it with profit!)

  2. I buy and sell alot of kit at auction. many times I have bought bargain generators for 5k and you often here " I would have had that for 5k " well they didnt I did. The dealers that do well are able to value something in a split second even kit they were not looking at it. Its easier to make the odd mistake if you have 250k to play with at each auction. Auctions are a high risk high pressure enviroment. I think Log barrons value is spot on. No one has stumped up 24k yet and every day the value is downwards. What people ask and what they get two different things. Dealers have no emotional attachement to the metal they buy but the guys on here can see the money they can earn with it.

Not sure what you mean? There is no clock ticking on the tractors value?

  3. yes it was for £13.5k and now a dealer has it up for sale for £26k

£24750 I think, but its some mark up! Fair play if he can get it. The same dealer has a very good name in the agri world.:thumbup1:

Sam, I would be very sick if I were you. In fact in a weird way I almost feel I missed out on a great earner myself!

  4. i am looking at getting a new ride on. i have seen 'craftsman' on e-bay with a 42 inch deck and a 24hp briggs and stratton v-twin. the engines are good, but does anyone know if the rest of the machine is? they are very well priced at 1795 inc. vat i think!

they are american, but i have no idea about their performance and build,

    thanks

I may be wrong, but I think craftsman are the same as (or made by) Husqvarna.

I know my local husqvarna dealer sells both partner and craftsman ride ons, and they look identical to the orange ones bar the colour.

  5. I would pay extra for the low mileage one provided the condition and history match whats on the clock. You will get a lot of work out of it before it reaches 100k.

We bought an 05 Golf Tdi 2 years ago with just under 100k on it. Price was good, but a clutch, manifold and other smaller bits have since been replaced at a cost of over 2k.

Wont be buying high mileage again. :crying:
