  3. Ok......I met Clive early in the morning in familar surroundings...the lical Cafe if course...sod the healthy option this morning..we had work to do!

It has done a lot of miles...and it was good to see you at the beginning of this journey Sammuel...I will alwsys be grateful to you for the truck and you know I treasure it...and I know you are happy with what you have now:) anyway, before I reveal the finnished Elm slab here is a reminder of last week:thumbup: good bit of teamwork Sammuel i'd say...and what a saw!

Back to the Tale!...After leaving London this morning I went up to see Delabodge near Twyford to see if he could help me dress up a lump of English Elm i had in the pick up.It came from a tree that had split in half in a London Park a year ago and was an Emergency call out....after the clear up was done I salvaged a piece fom the crown break and as usual carted it home on my bicycle (it's all on the thread...somewhere) so here is the Before picture...

  10. Returned last night once more to London and enjoyed a rather delicious Italian meal with the missus...promised her I'd visit her more. Didn't bother with a hotel this time. Slept in my truck:D it's time to hit the road....I have anappointment with an old friend....Motorway....here I come!

Happy to help and thanks for the work...a couple of weeks ago the doctor told me to take things a little easier, take my antibiotics and finally rid myself of this chest infection.I knew then I wanted to alter my course in life and move away from the full time tree work I was in and get into teaching or maybe a return to travelling Arb.I think the latter is my prefered option.i am in full control of my life and am able to be myself more....and meet more Arbtalkers....and my Girlfriend:) returned from London on Monday morning to complete the 56 conifer removal and yesterday said goodbye to J.B and Al Cormick...now off to..........???

  16. I will Stephen...he used to ride in your old Unimog in London sometimes....I like inspirational people and those who can make a positive out of a negative.
  17. Thanks lads....he's my best mate in London and I like his Positive way of thinking about his situation...he is just adapting him climbing technique. He could adapt his artificial legs to spikes or a Pantin...we have to think outside the box...

As you may remember, A friend who I worked with on street trees when I first arrived in London lost his legs above the knee last April...he and I are very much alike in our determination.he told me he wanted to climb a tree soon..."why not?" I replied and set up a system in his kitchen for him to try and wear a harness for the first time since the amputation..he did suprisingly well:thumbup::thumbup: he will climb again I am sure....and I'll be there to record it!
  21. After saying farewell to Mrs Fox yesterday I had one more person to see...so I decided to stay one more night, this time in the East end:cool:
  22. I have to agree, basic ring cambium saver, installation from the ground and then retreval is quick and simple. Although I now prefer my Teufelberger pulley saver and have retreved it on occassion...
