  1. for small winches the cable is a throw away item , ramsey do a kit that layers the rope on spool in , but not under tension , when spooling in try and get a pully block set up to align the rope straight onto the winch , to stop corner build up , you could use plasma rope it will take a bit more stress .if rope is crushed spool of at end of day and re layer , dont leave it on crushed . get a capstain winch and plasma rope .

  2. What did the home owner say , he must of known if he purchased the property , but i presume the tree hugger sold it to a property developer , with the clause in it , then sold again to house owner with no clause in it , so fell it and let the property developer pay as he did not declear the convenant on the tree , somthing like that was there any paper work for said tree .

  5. the P30 is good on the Holder It has a 180 k weight , would love somthing bigger but the jobs i go for are in the wet areas and anything heavy would be gone .+ i can take it to work on the trailer. The posts on the wet part are 3m they go in ok for the first 2ft then it is compacted sand and shingle , box strainers are all we do around here even on the dry parts / smaller timbers though . this fence was for Highland cattle

  6. Hi all I have been asked to sort out 10 km of path it should be 5m wide but in places it is down to 2m , the trouble is grass / rubbish is converging in from the sides and it needs scraping back. The path is made of compacted ballest

i was going to use my boxer with a sharpend blade to scrape across the top , dont fancy doing it by hand , anyone use /know of other equipment to do this

    any ideas would be welcome
