Oooooh, so nice.
I like my 16m trailer mount with fly jib, but am aware I am getting older, and have similar ideas.
What did it set you back, if that's not too rude a question?
Not at all. Nothing you won’t find out with a bit of research. £62,000 + vat [emoji33]
Trailer coming this week to make transporting a bit easier! -

Finally took delivery of my new Multitel SMX250 mewp, after a 5 month wait.
On tracks, base is 1m wide and goes up to 25m
high with 11.5m outreach. Goes on a 3.5t trailer, so towable behind the Ranger. Also fits on the flat bed body of my 18t hook loader/hiab lorry.
I have 35 years climbing / tree surgery experience, and hopefully this will enable me to continue doing the trees, without quite so much physical effort!!
Available mainly in Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire areas.
Contact me on 07841 143536 for enquiries.
Cheers......Al- 7

Thanks. Saw that one, made an offer and didn’t hear back.

I have just bought a 2nd hand DANequip 25SP
Have you managed to sort your issue?
Andrew
It’s a 27sp I think. Will have to check!
No problem not sorted yet. Missed a call from Danequip so will call back tomorrow

WHAT MARRIED MAN THINKS
A woman awakes during the night to find that her husband was not in bed.
She puts on her dressing gown and goes downstairs to look for him.
She finds him sitting at the kitchen table with a hot cup coffee in front of him.
He appears to be in deep thought, just staring
at the wall.
She watches as he wipes a tear from his eye and takes a sip of his coffee...
'What's the matter, dear?' she whispers as she steps into the room.
The husband looks up from his coffee, 'I am just remembering when we first met 20 years ago and started dating. Do you remember back then?' he says solemnly.
The wife is touched to tears thinking that her husband is so caring, so sensitive.
'Yes, I do' she replies.
The husband pauses. The words were not coming easily.
'Do you remember when your father caught us in my car?'
'Yes, I remember!' said the wife, lowering herself into a chair beside him.
The husband continues. 'Do you remember when he shoved the shotgun in my face and said:
'Either you marry my daughter, or I will send you to jail for 20 years?'
'I remember that too' she replies softly.
He wipes another tear from his cheek and says...
"I would have been released today..!!!"- 6

I’m guessing this spindle which has the drive pulley on the end, shouldn’t be spinning freely as in the video?
Lost drive to the wheels earlier, belt is ok and lever is moving backwards and forward on the drive unit, and oil in the reservoir

I don’t see why it’s such an impossible task to collate a database of species with reaction to pruning cross referencing that against age of tree, season pruning is to take place, likely vitality, possible time frames for re inspection etcetera?
Most of it is well known to anyone in the business for a few years.
Look at the fungi database on here, done by the Hump in his spare time iirc.
Crack on with it then Mick. You seem to have a lot of spare time... [emoji12]- 1

No, that is just a gap in between the bosses on the side of the sump.
There’s an oil pressure gauge in the cab so will re-wire the sender to it. -
It’s on the block. A manual for
the engine turned up today and shows that a oil pressure switch can be fitted there. [emoji1360]
Shows the dipstick on the other side of the engine, but couldn’t see
anything there either. -

Al your circled gizmo looks like a sender unit for a leccy oil pressure gauge , if it was mine I would forget about the dipstick for now. Just drain it of oil and refill with a couple of gallons of fresh oil just to get it running.
Bob
Sounds like a plan! Itching to see if it works!!
I suppose a 15-40 mineral type oil for this old engine?
-
Still can’t find it
The following photos show the sump and the boss on the side where you would expect the dip stick to be, but feels like the top is blocked off. The engine mount makes it very hard to get to.
What is the cylindrical thing circled in yellow in one of the photos with an spade connector on the end? -
Use the list price in the Stihl catalogue unless you have to show purchase invoices
Or husky catalogue....
-
That’s where you would expect it to be isn’t it! I’ll have to have another look when I’m in the yard.

Al zoom in on this pic and yule see the dipstick located low down on the sump pan.
Hi Ken
Ive seen that picture, and still can’t a dipstick. Sump pan has the shaped part on the side, but no hole in the top and no dipstick!
Cheers

Found out today that it has been fitted with a Perkins D3.152
The engine was made on 22nd July 1986, so probably not the original engine.
Weirdly, I cannot for the life of me find the engine oil dipstick!
Anyone know about these engines? -
Tulip tree trunk any good to anyone?

And there’s the issue for us. Us tree surgeons get nice wood now and again , but unless someone is going to collect it, pay for delivery etc, it’s always going to end up as firewood.
