  1. No i have a quad and two tractors that is it. I would like one but if i could choose i would have a toyota hilux to deliver firewood in and get about the estate.

  2. You have not posted many threads yet you must be shy.

  3. Cool avatar where did you find the deer. When i was choosing my new one i nearly used one of a baby fallow in the grass.

  5. Cool landrover how much for a ex military?

  6. Yo i think this is the fisrt time i have seen you online

  7. It is all down to money. the estate where i work used to have six woodmen now there is one me and all the costs have to be kept low as they wont spend money on woodlands. They just rely on grants it is a shame and i would be the first to say but it seems to be the way of the world david.

  8. Yes i have some coppice woods and am getting more all the time but not good quality as we have deer and rabbit problem. If your gamekeepers are like mine they swipe over everything last week he went swiping and ran over a large ash sapling and knocked the oil filter off and lost all the oil and i only changed the oil and filter two weeks before.

  9. Welcome to the woodmans choice will-d

  10. What wood do you use for your stakes when hedge laying and where do you sourse it?

  11. How about you come to mine on monday? i have no car on monday as my wife is taking the son to the peak district. You could see some of my old oak trees.

  12. Merry christmas mate and a happy new year.

  13. How about that drink sometime my mobile number is 07765970309 i am off work now for a week. merry christmas and a happy new year to you and your family.

  14. You have them too they say birds are nesting in march but here they do see that a woodman working alone is no harm to wildlife and when you see a nest being built i move on. Yes i am busy all year planting nov and dec then working in the woods till end of april then spraying then during the summer i cut rides around the estate bit of tree work in estate gardens maybe removing tubes that sort of thing plus in the summer i do orchid surveys barn owl surveys and working out work for the following year, so all woodmans work lucky really.

  15. What sort of work do you usually do in the summer as we cannot work the woods now in the summer months. What are you doing for christmas?

  16. Yes i would like that try and get together when i am off at christmas, Do you fancy meeting for a drink maybe in debenham and talk trees and stuff the eats seem to be a bit slow with there meet up?

  17. Welcome to the woodmans choice andy.

  18. Do you use crossbows as well?

  19. Sorry to hear that, as i said to you before i am only here because of the shooting. you sound a bit like me i would rather be doing something than nothing. i hope work picks up for you in the new year.

  20. ARE you self employed or employed?

  21. Welcome to the woodmans choice.

  22. We have got a nursery near here selling trees and shrubs of local provenance i supply him with acorns from my veteran trees he sells them as his heritage range.

  23. Do you find woods work hard or is it just my age i came home today cold and my bones all ached but i had a little friend with me all day today a little goldcrest.

  24. that was a good link you posted on the woodmans choice i liked it a lot did you say you had been on one?

  25. In one of my woods are some overaged hazel the retired gamekeeper planted them 60 years ago icut one but it did not shoot and just rotted away what a waste. Is it my age or is being a woodman very hard work and makes all your bones ache.
