  7. Hi si I dont work for anyone in the tree game full time any more, At the moment im a site manager at a primary school, but used to work for a company called IGM that was based in lye at first but then moved to alverley up bridgenorth way. Im keeping my foot in the door by doing weekend jobs for timber tim, have same good times with the lads but always looking for someone who needs a hand on a weekend. ive got my own climbing gear and im always trying to get up a tree one way or another, I want to get some more tickets but as ever it a money thing. The ones im aiming for next are felling and working up a tree with rope and harness How about you mate who do you work for?

  10. Hi guys i need help please with my stihl blower, It about 2/3 years old now but not had that much use out of it really. Ive been using it the last coulpe of days fine until yesterday afternoon when just like that it started to run bad. As soon as i was getting to half way on the trigger it would die on me and id have to let go of the trigger to get the power back up, I left it over night with the air filter off and the spark plug out. This morning i used it and it was fine, up until i ran out of fuel, When i come to start it up again after refueling, i couldnt get it to start up now the primer bubble is staying compressed and theres not any fuek coming into the engine. Ive taken out the carb, fuel lines and both air and petrol filter and given them a clear out with an air line. Put everything back together but still the same problem is there. No petrol is going into the engine and the primer bubble is not doing what it should. Has anyone got any ideas please Thanks Gazf
  11. Hi mate The reason why im going for the solo is because of the price, Ive looked for a second hand 020 and im looking to be paying £150 at least on ebay and with that i wont know the history on the stihl so i could end up with a faulty saw, but with the solo i know the saw well as i was there when my mate brought it from the shop and my mate hasnt used it much and hes selling it me alot chear than a 020 would cost me and with the way the money is at the moment ill take all the chances i can to save same money
  12. Going back one to the sublect i know that the solos are not as good as the stihls but i feel that it should be good enough for the jobs that i do. I have used it acouple of times in the past and did notice that it didnt have as much power as the stihls but it got the job done and i think after a good service and tune up that might help get back some power it may have lost over the couple of years he has had it.
  13. I can promise you that even because i called it a one handed saw it doesnt mean i dont know how to use it and i dont practise safe climbing and usege of the saw up a tree. Yes i havent had the correct training but have had the experience with using a CLIMBING saw up a tree, i know this doesnt excuse me for even using the saw untrained but if i didnt feel safe enough up trees i wouldnt be up there in the first place. Sometimes being trained in the job doesnt always stop the wrong things happening to climbers it just gives you more knowledge on how and what can happen. As i only do small jobs for family and friends i believe i have enough training and skill to complete the job safely, If a bigger job comes along i always give it to my partner in crime anyway. This year after i get married in july i am planning to go for my felling ticket next and then working from rope and harness, after that i will have more than enough training and tickets for what i need
  14. Just wanted to ask guys, What are the solo one handed chainsaws like for the weekend job user. My mate has offered me his as he doesnt use it anymore because he has had a 020 tha he uses now. Are these ok for just the littler jobs, as i know that they arent as good good as the stihls but good enough to do the job Thanks guys Gaz
  15. The Tree Climbers Companion is a good place to start its a book i got when i started
  16. Ive recentley gone to the VT and finding it ok, The problem i find is that not only it takes longer to settle once ive pulled up but that because of the length of pussik cord warped around my climbing line that has to tighten up first. My main worry is that it makes my climbing line twist somehow where the wraps are. Is there anyway of stopping this Gaz
  17. Yes the fence was OK i planned that you see also the washing line was taken down by my cuz who i was diong the jod for. No damage was done on that day
  18. I did notice that the pics were the wrong way so i went back and adjusted them but it had already posted. Also i tryed to post them all together but the forum wouldnt let me post more than 4 pics on each thread So sorry guys

Does anyone ever asend on this system? Ive noticed that when you pull the dead end of your climbing line to work the pulley and VT up the line and let go you always get that little bit of movement until the pussik cord tightens
