  1. Hi Mr JD, How are you getting on with your cabstar ? I've also just bought a secondhand cabstar & am thinking about how to convert it, probably gonna go for the angle iron / marine ply option too. You thinking about a toolbox at all ?
  2. Thanks Andy, will get in touch with Mr JD & see how he's progressing as £4000 or £5000 is a bit steep for me too !
  3. Hi All, Just bought a Cabstar Tipper and am now thinking about adding some storage for Saws, Tools, Climbing & Lowering gear. Anyone got any novel ideas, pics for tool boxes & tool vaults etc. At the moment I think its going to be a box bolted or welded to the bed & possibly a box under the bed on the passenger side. I thought about creating a tool locker by shortening the bed & fabricating something but its quite envolved & not sure that its worth it ! Could just chuck everything in the back I suppose ?
  4. Hi Fowler / All, I'm 36 & have just done my CS30/31/38/39 & am just about to do a Lantra Chipper course. I'm also contemplating my next move, unfortunately I have a big mortgage etc etc so need to earn reasonable money to cover this. I'm thinking of trying to get some part time (Thurs / Fri) & weekend tree work locally to gain some valuable experience & do some smaller tree work myself for the first half of the week (I realise I'll have to be selective / sensible and not take on anything beyond my capabilites !). Any thoughts ...........
  5. Hi chaps, I'm in a similar situation to Stihlwatersrundeep, just done cs30/ 31/38 & doing cs39 next week and have just seen this, could you expand a bit on that comment about this being a tough year please andy. Its spooked me a bit ! ta.
  6. Well done Tuppy, whats next ?
  7. I did my course / assessment about a month ago. On the course Pole Rescues were discussed , drawn on the whiteboard but that was about it. The assessor just asked us a few questions, to make sure we knew the basics I guess ?
