  1. Hi I've got a mower with a b&s motor on it, can't get it to start. It's been stood for 18 months. Thing is I think the only cold start on it is a primer, there is a little choke like leaver but I'm not sure it does or ever has done anything. Anyone any tips on getting it going? There is a spark, the only thing I can think if is the petrol has gone off? Are smaller engine more susceptible to this? I've left petrol in vehicles for longer than this and had no problems?

  2. Thanks guys, it's not really a problem getting the kit back as such. If I was really needing it I'd of tied the landy to the door and pulled it off! I'm more annoyed about my locks and having no notice. I'm having a look at another garage tomos so fingers crossed on that or I'm screwed!

  3. I doubt there's been any criminal offence committed by anyone: property law is a horrendous minefield.

Re access to your kit however... I believe it is still the case that even when bailiffs are seizing property under a warrant they don't have the right to a man's 'goods and chattels', i.e. the clothes he wears and the tools of his trade. So you may have a case for demanding access to your equipment - to move it out.

Speak to a solicitor who deals in civil law. It may cost you but unless your knowledge of the law is at the same standard assume nothing.

Cheers guys. They've said I can get access on Monday between 9-5.30, and presumably the rest of the week the same times. No good to me as I'll be working those times.! Ill be billing them for the locks if I don't get them back and a days loss of earnings. Also what if anythings missing? It's unlikely but what if? Cheers again.

  4. Not sure how they got the locks off. I didn't get out the car close enough to look. Not sure about the small claims thing, there's something I'm not telling the full story about if it went that far, but don't wanna say on a public forum. Anyone know if they've committed an offence cutting the locks? And would I be if I cut there's? Which with our law system sounds more likely!

  5. I rent a garage off a property firm for storage. Asda and the property firm have put planning proposals through to build a new store which involves demolishing the garages. I had a letter in around november time saying we'd be given notice if we were getting evicted. I've had nothing through since. So I go down today and there's a notice on the door saying possession of it has been took back, and they've took my locks off so I can't get in. Rang the number on the letter and spoke to security who said the letter had bean put on the door 2/3 weeks ago and to ring again Monday and I'd be let in. I pay a month in advance for the garage and I last payed on the 3rd of this month. So question is where do I stand. I've not been able to get to my stuff today to work tomorrow so I've lost out there plus the locks, which may or may not be still useable, I don't even know where they are yet. Any advice much appreciated. Cheers mike

  6. If one is in a vehicle that becomes live do not touch metal and when leaving the vehicle leap as much a distance as possible with feet close together. NEVER climb down onto the ground whilst still touching the vehicle.

Yeah I've recently started power line work and got told if a line comes down to hop away from the area, something to do with phases or something.
