  1. Was thinking of physio actually. I don't mind paying that once or twice but don't want it to mount up. Knee specialist is the way forward though for long term health and fitness. Need to change my doctor because I don't understand a word he's saying and I don't think he understands me either!

  2. I'm taking Ibuprofen at the moment but will get a doctors appointment ASAP (very difficult nowadays) and ask for an Xray. In the meantime I'll start stretching more before and after work. Cheers all for the advice

  3. The brand and diameter of the friction cord makes a difference. Try it out different ones and you might find one that works better with your climbing rope. I like to tie the 'knut' with 10mm beal regate, it flies up. Wetness makes a difference too

  4. '· some experience of processing Local Authority protected tree applications (e.g. Tree Preservation Orders, trees in Conservation Areas).'

Thats the tricky bit if you haven't come from a background in planning or been an assistant tree officer.

  5. Got very uncomfortable pain in the knees when I climbed a mountain in Norway and I've had it in the Lake District too. Its just come about again this week as we are climbing in and out of a river(dyke) and yanking limbs out etc. Is this a common complaint in arb? I reckon spiking doesn't help but then there are people who have spiked for decades without problems.

  6. Being inexperienced is stressful then it eases as confidence is gained. In my opinion an inexperienced person will be more likely to get stressed when roping down large sections for example; whereas a more experienced climber will be relaxed because he/she is familiar with the sensation of lowering big stuff and being shook around a little.

  7. Just back from Norway today. Had a great trip and stayed in cabins with mountain and fjord views. Walked up mountains, knackered me knees, what more could you ask for!

  8. Gaffer wouldn't let us use a home made splice anyway but would have liked to go on that course. Going to keep the snap hook and at some stage make up a lanyard. What diameter and type of rope is compatible with the grillon - I know to look at the manual but haven't got it right now!

  9. What about good things to buy when out there? My girlfriend wants some of them knitted socks but that's not important! I know they do some really good outdoor clothes and work gear.. any recommendations?

  10. Got a new bit of rope for the petzl grillon provided to me today but it doesn't come with a snap hook, just an eye splice for a carabiner. I prefer a snap hook for my flipline but I'd need to put it on with a mallion rapide or something. Anyone got around this another way?

  11. haha. want a pro version for the rev counter but they're a bit expensive and play are out of stock at the mo. Self relieving jokes aside, what other exercises are good to alleviate wrist pain?
