  1. .........in your opinion! In mine, and I use Jensen and TW every week, Jensen is ok, but backup is very poor. The Jensens have both been layed up for days and days waiting for parts. The performance of our TWs is at least as good as the Jensen equivelent models and the TW feed rollers seem to crush much better than Jensen. TW backup is everywhere and when we break the machines, which we do, they are usually going again next day.
  2. Curses! You busted my true identity!
  3. I won't have one. I'll do time first (won't be the first 'time' either!!). I've got nothing to hide, all my previous transgressions have been due to being a bit quick on the punch and not theft, fraud, tax evasion etc, but I've got no need to prove that I've got nothing to hide either. I agree that we have problems of illegal workers, tax dodgers etc, but those problems should be dealt with instead of keeping tabs on me. Anyone who supports them, fine, but I won't have one.
  4. That's good advice - give TW a ring
  5. I appreciate the offer, but I'll pass for now, thanks
  6. Soooooo.............. anyone else got a view on the Laski/Greenmech?
  7. Sorry, hadn't intended any upset, but it was actually being open minded that made me ask for feedback! That feedback came as the machine being 'mediocre quality' and current user(s) who wouldn't get another one. Anyway, no beef, just asked for feedback and got it!
  8. Understood, thanks alot. Well noted on the maintenance and the feedback suggests that I should avoid the Greenmech due to issues with build quality.
  9. Thanks Mr E, overview of someone whose used the machines always useful and good guidance. So basically I can expect the Vermeer and the Carlton to have all of those described problems as well, even more so the Vermeer as its worse build quality than the Greenmech?
  10. Sounds terrible! I couldn't be dealing with something that need so many mods and I couldn't rely on those sort of checks being made in the yard before use. If the Laski is better than the Vermeer, the Vermeer must be a real dog!
  11. How is it better Mr E? Where does it beat the Vermeer? And how do you feel the Carlton is better than the Laski. Genuine interest in the feedback as I've had a little promotion and when I go back in the New Year I've some purchasing responsibility for kit (council gangs) and stump grinder is on the list. Thanks.
  12. Fair nuff Pete and thanks for the apology. Sorry if i gave offense with what I wrote about the machines, it wasnt the intention.
  13. can we really screw a court case by talking through the working aspects of what happened on a working forum? seems a real shame not to be able to talk about it and learn, it could save somone else getting hurt or maybe killed. Not having a go at Colin, just a pity that thats the case
  14. I'll bet EA is masses as well. Also bet that the basic stuff you do is a zillion times more usful than the library we cart around if anything does happen, need a quick refrence in a emergency situ and not to have to search through a contents first!!!
  15. Yep, masses cos its council! Heavier than the chipper!
