  6. just heard through the magic of the interweb that there may be no camping at the celebration of trees, this could really put a spanner in the works for my weekend, any ideas

  11. yeah i usually check in briefly in the mornings unless i have a really early start, need to get my fix or i just cant concentrate
  12. to be fair dean you cant see the size of the drop zone in any of those pictures. yeah weve all taken trees down in tiny spaces, and 90% of the time you kill yourself trying to get it done, if the option is there to use a crane why not utillise it. plus it was in winchester, people arnt exactly short of cash round here:001_tongue:
  13. there was very little drop zone, it would of been a pain riggingit all down and there was a fair lean towards the house, another guy priced to take down without a crane but the people went with jimmys quote.
  14. i gave up when i went to indonesia surfing for a month, the cigs out there are rank so i stoped, 1 yr down the line and still going strong
  15. the pics are of my friend jim, and yes he had a very big smile. im not sure of the cost of that crane it was jimmys job, but im seeing him tomorrow so il find out, the firm was king lift, they have depots through out the country and i can highly recomend them or at least the guys we had today
  16. todays job, jim mabey of special branch tree services took down the pine, we had it hired for 4 hours so we had time left for me to use it to crown lift the pine next to it, all climbing done by 1130
  17. thanks for taking the time drew i now know what im going to spend my sunday doing
  18. i use 16mm for my main rigging line, and ive got a large red isc block as well as a couple of smaller gold/red redirects. sometimes use an old climbing line for smaller stuff
  19. i use zingit, i dont find that it tangles to bad. great for pulling deadwood out with as well as hangers
