Had my n95 for a year, and its only been back for repair once. If you take it to a carphone warehouse they will fix it undr warranty. It does seem a little fragile for the kind of abuse that gets thrown at phones in this job.

Tachyon is 11.7mm. The larger diameter ropes are either half inch, (12.7mm) or 13mm. Different manufacturers ropes often handle differently despite being the same diameter on paper. I find Samson ropes often feel thinner than advertised, while Yale and New England tend to puff up a bit and feel chunkier in the hand.

I heard a rumour about a new larger diameter climbing line with a solid foam core, so lightweight and firm. Be interested to know if anyone else has heard anything.

I find beeline a bit too soft, same with reigate and tenex. I find a slightly stiffer cord holds the shape of the hitch better, ocean polyester isnt bad, liros herkulus is ok, 8mm roblon doublebraid is ok. You will get as many different opinions on the perfect vt as there are people using it. Its a case of experiment until you find one you like. I like a fairly loose hitch, so it self tends easier, but it doesnt grab 100% reliably, which some people cant abide.

I think you can get them with longer legs as a special order.

Marlowbraid yes, not sure about the 10mm though. The reigate will be rubbish, you need a bit of stiffness to help the hitch stand up. Try a 3 2 and see how it goes. Final word of warning, the VT is not so much a friction hitch as it is a lifelong obsession!
