Hi Dan It does make a difference, that's why we asked. We are trying to only post on a Friday, with whatever we are promoting on our socials and emails. I do notice that when we update the classifieds, they all pop up in the unread posts. As these run out after 2 weeks, I've started to try to spread them out so it's not too much at once. I can't control this as it's an Arbtalk thing. Pricing-wise, we should always be cheaper as we are only there to move on end-of-line products or out-of-packaging products. We will have a think and discussion on how to be more engaging in our content - any suggestions would be appreciated. Hi All, As some of you may know, ARB Surplus has now been running for just over a year, and we’re really starting to gain some momentum. We’re a little different to the usual. Most of what we offer is end-of-line stock, items that may be out of packaging, or even products where the part number has simply changed. The idea behind ARB Surplus is to help shift excess stock efficiently, making it easier for new stock to flow in. As a distributor ourselves (Fletcher Stewart), we know how easy it is to be left with odd sizes, old packaging, or discontinued lines—especially when the dealer network rightly wants the latest version. That’s why we created ARB Surplus: to offer a practical, value-driven solution for clearing quality kit that still has plenty of life. We’ve recently expanded into our first consumable product—chain oil—which many of you will have seen during our 20% off promotion here a few weeks ago. It was well received, and we'd love to build on that momentum. Now, we’d really appreciate some honest feedback to help shape where we go next: What would you like to see on ARB Surplus? Hi, you do make a good point here, we did sell them as did everyone else they are Stein fliplines. We only ever got them from Fletcher Stewart as they are Stein, thats why you are seeing them on this site. Hope that helps.

Hi No it's not FRJ stock, you will see there is a lot of old style SIP Protection who we are the distrubitors for. Also we were the distrubitors for Belotta tools - who have now pulled out of the UK. There is quite a bit of ISC available and some more to go on. This is from when ISC pulled out of using us as a distrubitor and now supply direct to retailers. As mentioned above we are Stein as our home brand so anything that becomes end of line we will put on here after offereing it to the retailers first. Jonesie is advising us with the website and some marketing, but has no stake in the business.

Hi all, We’ve just started sponsoring this forum, so thought it was a good time to introduce ourselves and let you know what we’re about. ARB Surplus has a simple mission: to connect arborists with surplus products that offer incredible value. Most of our items are end-of-line, discontinued, or have had a minor update like a colour change. Some are current products but ex-display, so may be out of packaging, etc. ARB Surplus is owned and run by Fletcher Stewart, a name many of you will recognise as a distributor of some well-known brands. We found ourselves needing a way to move surplus stock before it gets too old and takes up valuable warehouse space – and that’s how ARB Surplus was born. Stock is always changing, and in the near future, we hope to offer this platform to other manufacturers and distributors as well. We’ve set up a dedicated space in our warehouse, so if any distributors out there are interested in using this as a service, feel free to get in touch.
