Hi we have a Rytec 22ton 1.75 metre splitter for splitting back large timber to processor size ,i also have a chain saw and old homemade splitter running off a old dumper engine (very quick cycletime ). If you are working on your own then the saw and splitter are by far the quickest method of reducing timber to logs because using the large splitter on your own you have to keep getting off the tractor to operate the splitter and there is more handling off th timber using the large splitter.

we have the 30 ton posch 2.4m but don't like the timber for feeding through the processor so we now just cut it to 1m lengths and split it into billets and cut on the sawbench.
