Hi I've just purchased a second hand makita 230, but the oiler doesn't work?

Does anyone know about this chain oiler

Cheers

Are you sure about the number? I have never heard of a Makita 230.

Sorry--that's not the model I thought you had. I have worked on many Makita top handle chainsaws and I have never seen that model.

Must not be a US model?

Hi Jiles I think it's the smallest in the range of the top handles 22cc .but Im told they use the same oil pumps, anyway my one doesn't pump any oil out it's totally dry. Any tips?

First thing I would check is oil flow. Make sure pump is able to receive oil and then check discharge hose for oil to flow to bar.

You also want to be sure worm gear is rotating pump.

If all oil lines are open, remove pump and check for obstruction within pump.

When I rebuild any chainsaw, I blow compressed air through all hoses--no more then 20 pounds of pressure and then only a slight blow. Too much could blow filter off.

Good luck.

I just found this thread and thought about post here instead a new thread.

Does anyone have experience with a Makita EA3110T25B? Is a top handle, 30cc, seems light and the price is very low at some online stores. Is the same model as the Dolmar PS311TH.

I'm getting fed up of my heavy, unpowered, old and beaten up chinesium saw with "autoUntuned" carb. Starting to have some small contract jobs around here and don't want to fail. Should I save for a husky/sthil instead?
