  10. Hi everyone As anyone fitted electronic ignition to there stihl 020? I've seen these modules for sale, I'm rebuilding a 020 I just wondered weather it would be a worthwhile upgrade. Regards Richard
  11. Oh I don't fancy going through all that. As it would only be used on a mill, do you think that some type of external oiling system would be ok, like low pressure fed into the nose maybe. Back soon dinners boiling over cheers
  12. Hi Eddy, yep the main thing is the oiler, I've looked through the oil filler hole and were the manual pump housing goes there seems to be a cover plate? I'm hoping when this is removed it's just fit the pump housing and no drilling. Also I've removed the main pump bung to reveal a steel plug were the pump should be which will come out quite easy. On the plus side it arrived with the chain cover, bar studs, and nuts, chain adjuster and inner bar plate all fitted. I've only had a quick luck so far, I was really hoping it could be done without splitting the crankcase. Oh well looks like a proper strip down any advise would be great. Thanks guys
  13. Hi thanks for the reply I've got 3x 020's i would like to mod one these a bit more rpm ect, The 076 was a bit misleading sorry, I have just purchased a ts 760 in pretty good nick, and I want to convert it to the 076? Strictly for milling, and I was fishing for info. Regards Richsark
  14. Hi everyone just a quick question, as anyone ported the muffler on the 020 or the 076, and I sir worth porting these saws? Regards Richard
  15. Hello I like those old beast too, I have a 051 and it runs really good. I been after it's big brother for a while now but they go for a lot of money. Anyway I'm hoping that it's not got the combined oil/fuel tank, thanks for that tip I will be looking for that first, and then take it from there. Cheers everyone:thumbup:
  16. Hi I did get it from ebay, I've got few part for a 076 ,chain, bar, rim sprocket kit side cover bumper spikes ect. No oiler parts though. Well I think it could be a interesting shed project for the winter. Thanks any other info would be great:biggrin: Regards Richard
  17. Hi everyone, I've just purchased a working TS 760 disk saw, without the disk bit, and as it is based very closely on the great stihl 076 chainsaw. I would like to convert it back to the 076 chainsaw, as anyone tried this or as any info about such a conversion? Regards Richard
  18. Thanks very much for your offer but since posting this I've order one from the USA and in the short time after ordering I located them for sale at L&S engineering. Well we learn by our hasty mistakes
  19. Hi everyone hope you all had a great Xmas, Well this morning I desided saw up a big ash trunk with my 051, half way through my fourth ring lots of bad noise and it spat the ring sprocket out, it didn't hit me this part was embedded in the bark. But I'm glad I was wearing my helmet & visor, it could of caused serous injury. Anyway is it posable to remove clutch and housing without the special tool, as I ain't got one. I also need to buy a replacement 7 tooth ring sprocket .404 I've seen them on the internet but they are in USA. Regards Rich

    Dolmar 133

Hi everyone I got my 133 out today to log up a biggish tree this morning, it started perfect but it seem to have lost power and its not running high enough revs. It also seems to be hunting abit, I cut through the trunk three times ( 36" diameter ) but it was slow and struggling it got worse with each cut, I've misplaced my manual got from a online site so I can't trouble shoot it. Can anyone help please:001_smile: Regards Rich
  23. I think that is quite a good description broonie harsh but if you knew him fair, he's been messing with this saw for about two years trying to get it going, can't wait to give him the piece of twine, god knows how it got in there
  24. Hi I tried pulling it over again without the plug in first time slow ok, second time slow ok, third fast and it locked up but wouldn't move. Opened her up Basically a bit of blue baling twine around the recoil starter that flicked up when pulled fast. cleaned out, Plug in and started like dream, runs a bit lumpy though but tics over:biggrin: Cheers everyone
