How thick to cut slats for loovra panel?

Thinking of making up some loovra style panels to put in front of our log stores to keep off the rain. The sheds are around 5' wide so want to make large panels to cover each store. Got some larch in the round and going to mill some 4 1/2" thick planks from it. I can then get the plank under my bandsaw but how thick would you make the slats? Was thinking around 1/4" with side and central supports but never done loovras before so thought it worth an ask.

Thanks :thumbup1:
