Hi, as a highways op i would offer 1 piece of advice, 1 m strips at the side of houses on estates like this are sometimes called a "service strip" and are exactally that, all of the utilities run through there. It is classed a highways land, not council land, so u should check with the highways dept of your council, we have been instructed to remove fences and walls residents have built on this land (like you wish to) as its highways land. Of course this may not be the case at all, but beware. If u mess with highways land and they dont like it they will issue prohibition notices and charge you to put it back to spec.

even better when the home owner thinks its their land and we get to put a flail through it
