How's the war linkage, mainly the linkage near the back of the rocket cover at the base of the telescopic tube which extends out when you tip the cab. If this isn't adequately greased gear selection suffers hugely, did mine recently and its transformed the feel of the gears. You have to remove it to grease it as the bolt you need to remove to grease it is obstructed by the other part of the linkage, easy job though.

This bit?

Seems to be 1st, 3rd and 5th that are impossible to select. Going to make driving interesting today.....

That sounds like you might need more throw forward from the gear lever.

When you say impossible to select are they not going far enough to mesh or just grating and kicking out?

Purchase a bit of expert diagostics before you change the clutch.

Spoke to a mechanic earlier who said a small 10mm bolt has a habit of falling out of the gear selector under the top cover. Reckons this is what has happened. It feels like the gear stick runs out of travel before the gears mesh, just getting a load of grinding

2nd 4th and 6th were ok though. Made hills interesting today [emoji33]

Will check it out tomorrow after work.

Thanks for your reply.

The bolt inside the selector housing was still there. So not that.

Moved the lever round a spline and can get gears again now. Somethings moved somewhere.

One of the gearbox mounts doesn't look very good a.o might be the box has twisted back slightly on the other mount, affecting the travel of the gear stick mechanism.
