Which chain should I use on a processor (WP30)?

Looking at the Oregon range there are VPX BPX & LPX semi & full chisel I guess there are others too.

Second question.

The manual says that it is a 72 325 0.50 1.5mm

Whilst looking for chains they all seem to be 0.50 1.3mm or 0.58 1.5mm

Is the info in the manual wrong?

Yes, the manual is wrong. Should be 0.58, but the other numbers are correct: 72 .325" 0.58" 1.5mm

Interesting that the 30 & 36 use the same bar length. I had assumed that was one of the differences.

I figured faster cutting would make up for more sharpening, so I run 21LPX on my WP36. Turns out it doesn't need sharpening as often as I expected. Maybe I stick it in dirtier places when it's on my saw?

Cheers for that. I think the old wp30 did have a smaller bar. I am told now the difference is the splitter power and conveyor length.

Which bar do you run?

LPX here. Used to use the semi chisel but just like the speed of cut of the full chisel. I am mainly cutting greenish wood and the LPX is good for 20 tonne if the woods clean between sharpens.

That sounds ideal.

I have ordered an 21 LPX.

How are your bars lasting?

Pretty good. I was initially disappointed with the new harvester style bars as I seem to be getting rapid wear but think it was a slight oiling problem but they do need regular dressing. Clean out the oil hole in the bar each time you change the chain as it gets easily blocked.
