How many green teeth for a 18hp machine?

Currently have - 18hp machine, its runs 6 pairs of finger teeth.

 

Past machines have always had greenteeth so im switching it over.

 

Now.... I use to use an HB20 a lot which from memory had 4 pairs of greenteeth but had 27hp...

 

Should i go for 4 pairs or 6?

 

Rather than just telling me what you have on your machine Id like to know some thought and logic behind it!

 

Can i even go from 6 to 4? I guess the spacing wouldn't work out?... Hmmm

 

So 3 pairs or 6 pairs... waffling now.

 

Oh and what sized greenteeth? But that would depend on the amount of pairs used i guess......

 

Just after ideas for the most efficient and cost effective tooth solution.

we have 4 pairs of 700 with 2 sets straight in the lead and 2 pairs left and right set back 10mm it works well in stoney ground this is on a machine with 16hp

18hp is the crossover point for Greenteeth, anything up to 18hp is 500's, 18-35hp is 700's. I would have no idea how many to fit but your correct, the HB20 has Eight 700's at 25hp.

OK, I cant run 4 pairs without them being oddly spaced, That might not make a difference though as it will still be balanced.

 

if i ran 6 pairs would i be better running alternative straight then angled pockets?
