Going under the knife!

Best sleep I ever have, almost worth busting something for the quality sleep you get! Had 6 ops now and I could be addicted to anaesthetic big time!

 

I've had 2 plates put in my shoulder and one taken out.. I Think the aesthetic was the worst part. Made me feel ill for a week or so after.. Although going to Alton towers a few days after one of the ops probably wasn't a good idea.

I think that i've been sick most times after have general anaesthetic, projectile last time - luckily first thing within reach was a waste bin.

I have had about 5 generals and a spinal. The first general, I think they gave me "too much choke" and I was hungover for a day or 2. More recently, they have been a piece of cake, far better than a trip to the dentist. Secret I found was as the white injection goes in try to go to sleep, dont fight it. As you wake up, roll over and try to go back to sleep, again dont fight it, its powerful stuff!

Well I was sick due to a miss understanding with the nurse, she said I had to drink that jug of water and have a pee, I thought she meant straight away, so I downed the jug of water as if it was a pint, she looked on in amazement then we both realised what was about to happen! Yes it all came back up!

My first OP was on my ankle, I was pretty nervous and the porter guy was trying to make conversation to calm me down, he must have done it a million times.

"you see all those lovely nurses in there? fine attractive young things, well your wearing a gown with nothing underneath and your leg is going to be up in the air in stirrups while they operate, they are going to see everything youve got..........its a shame for you its about 10 degrees C in that room!"

 

I just burst out laughing, I'll always remember that guy!
